Jerrysmommadonna,

I forgot to mention you might call your sons Recruiter they might have addional info for you :)

My daughter departed today. my heart is in thousand pieces, I have this mix feelings pain and pride, but pain is stronger, I hope this goes away soon. GOD bless everyone that is in boot camp, perhaps never spend a Holiday away from home, God give strength to our boys and girls and comfort to us, God bless you all.

Check your My Page.

My son left today as well. I have been a mess all day! When he called tonight I just blurted out "I love you!" And I know he is going to give me grief about that lol. I will miss him terribly, but I keep telling myself that it is just 8 weeks and he is a tough cookie. He has all the support in the world back home and we will carry him through this challenging time. All of that said, I still cried when I hung up the phone. This is a tough road, but if we stick together I think we will make it :)
That phone call was hard. My son called twice from Chicago airport as well when they got there and he was still very emotional from leaving us at the Grand Rapids airport, which made it hard for me to hear him upset over the phone.
It's a hard feeling to explain, we are all proud of our sons and daughters but at the same time we miss them dearly and are scared for them.
Hi My daughter left for the hotel yesterday and will be flying out this morning. I can relate to what you're feeling. I am on an emotional rollercoaster my daughter turned 18 in July of this year...shes my babygirl. Although I'm concerned I couldn't be more proud. Please stay in touch it's good to speak with women who are familiar with what youre experiencing. Thx
Thanks and good luck to your daughter. Maybe she will cross paths with my son. He also just turned 18 back in April. Seems so strange to have him out of the house already.

My son left on December 3rd as well.  We are trying to adjust as a family.  I am trying to navigate through all of the support websites, but feel extremely overwhelmed.  I feel a flood of questions, but don't want to do something wrong or ask a question that has already been answered - I just haven't found the answer.  Any and all help is appreciated!

A lot of your questions will be answered in the Pages (found under the pictures of the members--you'll need to click View All to get to all of them) of Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and in the info on the first page of that group. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info--it will be less ovewhelming. There will also be information for you in your PIR group once i has been created. We don't mind answering the same questions, so ask anything you need to.

My Son left for the hotel yesterday and mesp today then flying to Chicago bootcamp , still waiting for the first call  - nervous

I am sure he will be alright

My daughter also flew out yesterday from Minneapolis to Chicago. I missed her call around 630pm. This is the first time she has flown alone. She turned 18 in January.

My daughter left on Dec 3rd. She wasnt susposed to leave until the Dec 13th and apparently there was miscommunication on the Head Chief and the recruiter Chief about her leave date. So they called us on Dec 2nd and told us we needed to take my daughter to the hotel that day... I was in shock I had taken 2 weeks off to spend with her and get things in order and the first day of my vacation I had to give them my daughter. I wasnt prepared and she was so nervous. I have been a mess for the last 4 days. I know she is a stong individual and can do anything put in front of her, I just wasnt prepared yet...Has this happened to anyone else?
