Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

It was terrible leaving him at the airport. I got his first call, but yesterday I kept wanting to grab my phone and call him. Uggghhh. I feel what you are saying too hard. I have a whole new appreciation for family members.

We are also moving out of state while she's in BC. So it's difficult knowing we are leaving the house she grew up in, so many memories here.... The thought of knowing she will never be in this house again is so strange. I will pack her room up and unpack her room in the next 2 weeks. I'm sure it will be tearful....

She did get to see the outside of the home. We were trying to get her down to do the walk thru on closing day but she had to work.
We are moving to the Mountain Home Arkansas area
I'm not sure she will be home much after she gets deeply involved in her job. She's 24 and already has a 4 year degree. Now she's going on to 1 1/2 years of A school for a CTI career. Since she is older I fell like by the time she gets to come home she will be married or engaged. I'm very proud of her and what a beautiful young woman she has turned out to be. There's a lot of letting go that is happening right now so it's just hard.

Kind of confused. I received my sons box today. While I was looking forward to receiving his dirty underwear lol the calling cards we got for him through calls for recruits were also returned. I thought ok maybe they let him keep his cell phone with him it was also returned. He had the calling cards in his wallet. Do they make them clean that out as well? And should I be concerned that he may not have anything to use to call home with? We don't have a home phone we use my cell for home phone.

He could have kept the calling cards, but no, you do not need to be concerned because he will receive a calling card in his ditty bag and can use that. You can send the calling cards back to him when you get the form letter with his address. His wallet may have seemed to fat to him when he went to put it in his "Valuables sock."

I would probably send him the calling cards back. Maybe he was just confused. My son kept his wallet, and his calling cards. Perhaps, another mom might be able to give you some insight on this. As I am pretty new to this myself. Take care darlin!

Amy, my son has been in boot camp since mid-November. His calling cards were also in his box, and I got so upset. During one of his phone calls, I asked him why. He said the guys just write down the code number from the back of the calling card into their address '' book as every little bit of space helps - even the space a few calling cards take up!

Thanks for that info. That's the first I've heard of that and a good idea.
