Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 083 and 084

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I got a call on Christmas day and it was a quick call.  Needless to say it was really good to hear from my sailor!  I did get a letter Christmas eve saying only to give her friends her address.  Then the next letter came today with "please send bandaids"!  Sounds like she's adjusting well!  Oh and said the food wasn't too bad!

Hello everyone! My SR son is in Div 84, going to Goose Creek for A School. Has anyone reserved a room at the Holiday Inn Express? Was wondering if we could maybe introduce ourselves before PIR.

We are staying at the Navy Lodge.  My son is going to Pensacola, Florida for A School.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Merry Christmas to you and your family

My story sounds very similar to everyone else's! My son is in Div 084. We got a call last Saturday. I was glad they got to call before Christmas. No letters yet.

We may get a letter or two by the weekend. If I could wish for anything right now I'd wish for a call today from my son. Merry Christmas!

My first call came Saturday as well but I missed it. :(

I got a phone call from my SR too.  He's having a bad time still and I guess he's been singled out as a "trouble maker" through a complete misunderstanding.  I'm glad your SR is making some friends.  Mine isn't and is being ostracized.  It's ruined my Christmas.

Thanks.  He said he did get some letters from me yesterday, so I hope that will help.  He's not a big sports fan though, but thanks for asking.  He wasn't as emotionally upset as he was in the first call, he just sounded flat and depressed.  He's not a trouble maker, but he made a misstep that he's getting a lot of flack for and it's made him very sad because although he's apologized, the person involved didn't accept it.  I'm so worried about him.

I'm so sorry to hear this, I would imagine how upsetting this might be, because its out of our control . We need to surrender & give it up to God. When I missed my sons call last Saturday , and listened to his message I was a wreck, it was very disheartening . I was a roller coaster with emotions! I later found out he called my husband and was able to speak with him for a few minutes. We called our friends & family and asked for prayers, I received a letter on Christmas Eve & felt like it was the best present ever. It was hard to read but it sounded better than that first call. I definitely felt his presence reading it. Today on Christmas I was so relieved to hear his voice and he sounded a little better, I really was surprised he was able to call because I was expecting Saturday . We've been praying diligently for specific things for our son and the div. What is your sons name so we can lift him up specifically ?

Thank you so very much.  I don't know what I'd do without the support I have here.  It's so kind of you.  His name is Nick. :)

Oh my goodness Sara!  That is so truly kind of you!  I'm only concerned he might be embarrassed if he realized I was discussing things here.  That's a hard one.  On the one hand, I'd love it, but I don't want to do anything that might make him feel uncomfortable.  He knows I'm on this site, but I wouldn't want him to get self conscious thinking I'm being all Mom-ish on here.  Thank you so much for offering though.  That's so sweet of you! :)
