Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 061 and 062

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is on  Ship 03 Div 064 and there are problem recruits there as well.  They should have around 88 in each division or thereabouts and the last time we talked he referred to about 38 of them being problem recruits.  He didn't say much about it other than from day one there's been a group of them that have brought the division down more than once and they're trying to work with them, but there's only so much they can do to help and to be honest, he didn't sound like he thought there was much hope for them.  I'm not sure if it's behavior issues or if they're just not cutting the  mustard.  He just said there's a group of challenging recruits.  Perhaps all divisions have some?

Newbie here. Daughter inBC (061) and also disappointed we didn't get a call. My husband came across N4M and I can't thank him enough. I can not wait to join see my girl!
Welcome chi_lynnchow!

This site has been wonderful - providing a place to connect with other moms and wives going through the same feelings. . . missing our sailors, trying to understand the unknown, dealing with the lack of communication and how to plan for attending PIR. We are all here for you and glad to have someone else to share with!

My daughter is in div 062 . . . I am in Orlando, Fl . . . Welcome!

My daughter is in Div 061 from Iowa.  Her last letter dated 12/22, I think said they were in the 4th week.  I noticed a difference in this letter from the ones before.  Like she grew up between letters somehow.  Her last call, she was kind of weepy b/c they had failed their first inspection.  I told her everyone does, but it gets better.  We already made reservatiosn for Navy Lodge for PIR and found Sarge for transportation.  Lots of good info on here.  Much appreciated.  Her last call, said she would not be calling again until the end.

Belutalefly . . When was your last call from your daughter? Have you heard from her more than once?

We have heard from her twice via phone.  The first call right after getting there and then we missed a call one Saturday when she tried twice but we were not there and she only got the message machine.  Then she called on Dec 17th I think.  Two calls actually.  She called home first and spoke to everyone there.  Then, she called me on my cell, as I was on my way home from work at the time.  I thought we MIGHT hear from her on Christmas, but she had said during her last call that she would probably not be calling again until the end, as that is what the RDC's had told her.

Good Morning Ladies, my son is on ship14/Div.61. I'm guessing no one heard fro their SR's for Christmas.

Nope.  Not here.  My daughter is also ship 14/Div 061.  From Iowa.

My daughter says her bunk mate is half Greek and has been teaching her how to write the Greek alphabet.  She hasn't said where she is from though.  Does that sound like anyone's daughter, if she is Ship 14/ Div 061?

I just received a letter from my daughter (from Calif) ( Ship 14 Div 061) yesterday that was dated on Christmas. She was really having a difficult time due to being sick and because she made a mistake on a roving watch that she did from 0200-0400, she had to do 60 core builders. I haven't had a call since the 16th & was SO dissapointed that we didn't hear from her on Christmas. Has anyone had a phone call?? With all I hear, despite loving her division, she is frustrated that they are ALWAYS getting into trouble. Do we know if they may get a chance for New Years?

Does anyone know why they can't receive stickers in their care packages? Not that I would send any, but I don't get why.

We have only heard from our son once, on the 16th. We have received 3 letters. The latest was written on the 22nd. He said that this week was condinced because of Christmas. My kids at work wrote Christmas cards to the Div. and he said some of the SR's were writing back to my students. We're hopping for a call this week. Miss my kid terrible

Hello everyone! The only phone call I have received from my daughter was 2 weeks ago today. (Div 062). She said they should get another phone call in 2-3 weeks so I'm hoping for one anytime! I really hate to hear that their division has so many problems. Worries me about teamwork. She also said it was just a few so maybe they will come together and do well. Keep your phones close!!! Have a good day!
