While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 085 and 086
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

I got a letter from my son (Ship 3, Div 085) today. He is not much of a writer so I prepared myself for a very short letter but was pleasantly surprised with a whole page. He wrote just the way he talks even adding an "um" in for good measure. At the time of the letter he had only gotten two letters from me and one from his girlfriend. Hopefully by now he has received some more of the many others I have sent. He did not tell me the DOT in this letter. If my math is correct he should be in 2-5 today.

Skibluedoggy, when I talked to my son on 12/21 he said that they were at week 1- day 3. I may actually be off by one day because someone said that 12/24 is Holiday routine. If that is the case then they are only on week 2 day 4. With so many holidays in the middle of their training I'm guessing that they double up on some of the stuff they are working

Hi Sue M. - welcome to the group!! and you did not rattle too long lol. Glad to hear that you VKat and Raine14 received letters. I sadly have not. But it's ok. We all have been writing him so hopefully he has been receiving them. Sue M. my son is in the same div as your son. He will be staying in Great Lakes for A school.

I got a letter today started in Christmas Day and finished Saturday or Sunday. They must be keeping busy. He said they PT'd on Christmas because some forgot to shave. That will probably be the last Christmas any are scruffy. They also got Christmas dinner. Lol.

I also have an SR in Ship03, Div085. He will be heading to Pensicola after PIR. He was born with a wrench and an airplane in his hand! He sounded confident and upbeat when he called but I haven't heard anything from him since then. Is everyone getting letters?

Aims
My son is also ship 03\division 085. He is staying in Great Lakes for A school - operations specialist. He knew where he was going to boot camp before he left to go to bootcamp. I believe he found out after he took his asvab test and knew what is classification was going to be. Hope this helps!! -
