Hi there - I'm Cyndi.  My boys both were sworn in, in August and they are finishing their senior year. Jonathon leaves the 8th - Special Operations rating and Tyler leaves the 29th - Air Traffic Control Rating. I'm so grateful for this site...as time grows closer, I know I'll learn so much more but for now I know that they're leaving on those dates and that I'm savoring every single moment I can.  My husband Alex and I have four kids - the twins, our daughter Lauren who is 15 and our son Ethan who is 11.  NONE OF US can imagine the day-to-day without Jon and Ty.  I just wanted to introduce myself....Grace and Peace.

One of my twin boys leaves for BC in July. We are in the same boat together as my boys are finishing their Senior year also. Right now we are making sure every "LAST" is a special memory. I would love for my other twin to join the military, but he is stubborn and doesn't want to be anything like his brother. I worry that they won't realize how much they miss each other until the one twin leaves.

It's odd that the boys leave on two different date!  My son leaves July 9.  He will be a Machinist rating.  We do not live far from GL so we it is a comfort-when he goes to A school, etc.  I had to laugh when he went to his DEP meeting last week.  He is in Cross Country and lost weight.  His recruiter told him he needs to gain 10 lbs.  Of all the problems to have:) Lol

my daughter is leaving on July 8 2014 :) I can't imagine a day without her either !! I'm excited for her to be starting on her journey but sad to see her go !!

My Son leaves July 29th also.  Special Ops.  We are so proud of him but cant help but think about the house without him.... As time gets closer more tears will come for sure!  Love this site has given me so much info already!

Good luck to all of the Guys and Girls on their future adventure in the Navy

Hi Cyndi, I'm Corliss my son leaves for BC on 7/7 for CS (Culinary Specialist).  But it was not his desire he is looking for an opening for another position.  What he was looking for was not open yet .  The funny thing is my son loves to cook so he is not upset.  I am divorced mom and raised by two children (Whitney, 22 and Donald 24) myself while living through my disability.  I taught my children to cook small meals on the nights I had my treatments.  My son blossomed in the kitchen.  My hobbies are cooking, crafting, reading, and surfing the net.

Hi I'm Kris and my son Chad was sworn in , in July and he also is finishing his Senoir year.  He orignally was going to leave for BC on July 3rd.  Then he made the rescue swimming program and they bumped his date to July 29.  He is my youngest.  His older sister is a sophmore in college right now her boyfriend is in BC for the Airguard.  The millitary is new to my family so I am very grateful for this website it has helped tremendously.
