Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 079 and 080
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Did everyone receive a call yesterday? I was told it was a scheduled mandatory call and it would be the last before the "I am a Sailor" call. I have yet to receive this so called call. Reallybummed.
I have been receiving the calls from my son on Saturdays, however this week he called on Friday. I think he usually calls me first. Then he calls his girlfriend or someone else. Does your son have a girlfriend he may have called? If so, maybe the call went long and he ran out of time.
My son is ship 13 div 79. No call at all this week but I did get a letter from him on Friday. Last call as 12/28. So far all his calls (3 so far) have been on Saturdays.
Hi Jennifer, I received a letter and phone call on Friday from my son. He is a Yeoman for div 79. He told me that he has been busy processing paperwork on the recruits. He said there about 16 currently on bed rest. Mostly due to dental work (wisdom teeth extractions). I'm beginning to wonder if that's why some of the mom's didn't receive a phone call.
I'm hoping that's why we didn't get a phone call. When we talked to my son on the 28th, he said he still hadn't had them out yet...and no phone at all over the weekend :(
Thanks for the info Maricpcctx. Ouch! Hope mine wasn't one of them he had all his wisdom teeth when he left, he never had any problems with his. Went to the dentist there had to have a root canal done but they said nothing about taking his teeth so he was hoping they wouldn't. Maybe that is why.
Got a letter saying the next scheduled call will be on the 29th...can't wait! Does anyone have information on A school? I am trying to find out what he can have/not have while there. Mainly like his own bathroom products? I want to have care pkgs ready to send to him.
ladies, when we get the call after battlestations, let's please try to remember to ask if they know if the whole division passed. this might help someone here whose call might be delayed because their new sailor has duty or something. Thanks in advance!
Just got my I'm a Sailor call so very proud of my son :) Unable to travel due to the wonderful ice storm in NC :( :( He understands but its still heartbreaking for me.
He said all in his division passed except for 1.
