Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 103 and 104

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Congrats on everyone who got a letter!  Hopefully I will receive one soon.

I received 2 envelopes today, one had 2 letters in it! He said one night during the first week (the letter was dated the 18th, he got there the 14th), after lights out, all the recruits had a big heart to heart, talking how they missed their family and significant others, how they're all a family, they're going to graduate together, and help each other reach their goals. He said one guy going into the Seals lead whoever wanted to work out early (since they couldn't yet) and they all did group exercises and pushed each other. I'm glad to hear all of our SRs have bonded and are already so close to each other. I hope everyone who hasn't received a letter yet gets one soon!

That's awesome! Thank you so much for sharing! I love reading every morsel! : )

Sounds like such a great group of SRs!  Thanks for sharing, I'm pretty much stalking this page for every little bit of info I can get.  Lol.  I'm hoping that's fairly normal and not unstable or anything.  ;)

Just got my first letter which was like 4 letters in one and one for his brothers.  Soooo happy! He sounds really good. He loves the food and the environment is great. He feels they are working at becoming a team. He talked about the shots and the penecillin injection in the backside. Feels like he is becoming good friends with a few of the other SRs. Loves his uniform. It made me feel good, feel he is doing well. Sigh....

Yea! Happy for y'all ! :D

Sweet that your SR included a letter for his brothers. Hooray for thoughtful sons!

congrats on all the letters! I even sent a self addressed stamped envelope and a blank piece of paper in my last letter, hoping it would make it easier for him to write me back. Nothing yet though

today I got 3 letters from my SR in 104 (it would be helpful when you post info from the letters/calls if we know what div they are in...don't you think?)

I see that many of you like me like any and all updates...these are brief but 3 different envelopes arrived in the mail today. so excited!  For those of you (like i was/am) totally hungry for any and all info...here it is:

hey guys!  I am on p-2 day, about to go to bed. its 20:00 (8 pm), so we are going to bed pretty early.  okay, so, yesterday was absolutely HELL.  We were up for a solid 38 hours.  Everyone was yelling and cussing like crazy.  my rack is actually comfy.  umm....oh, yeah, the shower is not a fun event.  86 guys going into only two showers butt naked is not a fun thing.  today has been way better, and not even  close to as excruciatingly painful.  moment of truth was scary by the way, but absolutely no problem since Ive been honest about everything.  today, actually, this afternoon's RTC was super cool. he's interactive and funny.  he put us all at ease.  well i'm going to bed.

today was an uplifting day, it seems like we got really good petty officers as our division supervisors, so thats amazing.  we went to our initial uniform issue today, where we were fitted for our blue, black and grey camo (NWUs or navy work uniforms).  that was exciting. we were also issued our combat boots.  they are extremely nice quality, mine fit amazingly and we wore them all day long.  my feet barely hurt, and i've only had them off for about five minutes.  strangely p-days are not that bad.  there is not that much waiting.  (well pointless waiting.  ie..waiting without studying) The food today was amazing.  there was ribs for lunch and also at dinner there was grilled fish.

today is officially day one of bootcamp!  it is 1-1 DOT (day of training).  Yesterday was interesting....  i got my military ID today, my dogtags today and today was our first day of wearing our NWUs! that is very exciting.
The weather may be hellishly cold up here, but they definitely don't let you freeze.  we wear a scarf, ski mask (which covers our whole head), beanie, parka, and sweats underneath our NWUs.  it feels like mexico or something since we are all boiling and stuff. thinking of you!
Love your sons letters! Love the details! ...my son in 104 also. Just said it was interesting experience!l. Lol
Short and sweet letter... Not complaining. Cause after all it's from him <3. Thanks so much for sharing!!! :D

Such great detail!  Thanks for sharing!!  So glad they're keeping them warm!

Thanks for sharing!  No real letters for me yet.  Like you, I'm so hungry for info!  My son is in DIV 103.
