Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 097 and 098
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Well, my SR called yesterday. I was working, though. His g/f told me he tried to call me. Weird, though, nothing shows up on my caller ID on my cell or home phone. Anyway, he told his g/f that the unit did good, so they got rewarded with either a phone call, a treat like a candy bar or a Red Bull. LOL
I booked a room at the Navy Gateway Inn & Suites right on base. They have to do a background check on all adults, though. It's a 2 room suite for $65/night. I also booked at the Ramada using my govt. rate, for 3 queen beds for $85/night. I can cancel either one without any penalties.
I was looking at the Ramada as well, but some of the postings about it weren't too positive. They may have been older though. Have you heard from anyone who was there recently?
Yes, I saw some pretty awful reviews on the Ramada tonight. So, I canceled the Ramada reservation. I searched and searched, and got a 1 bedroom suite at the Spring Hill Suites with the Navy Grad discount for $84/night. We're staying Thur and Friday. It has a gorgeous pool, and breakfast included. With an early 6:15am shuttle to PIR. Thanks, Emptynester77(ship 09 Div 097) for the heads-up!
Hey, where is everyone? I purchased a Navy Challenge Coin of Ship 09 John F Kennedyfor my SR's PIR. Check this out. Craig, from NavyDEP sells them on his eBay site PIRgifts
My son is in Div 98. Will be going to A school in San Antonio, TX. Where is everyone staying for graduation? I'm looking to drive in from PA.
It looks like a few are staying at the Springhill Suites but I just tried them and the rate has gone up to $94 a night so I'm looking around. Have tried Courtyard by Marriott, and Residence Inn...neither seemed to know anything about a Navy graduation rate. The Navy Lodge is booked up on the 7th and are asking us to check back with them and see if there are any cancellations. I'm thinking about going further out now....perhaps Libertyville or Lincolnshire.
My son also going to San Antonio....probably has met yours somewhere along the way.
My son is in Div 97. He is also going to A school in San Antonio. We are probably driving from New Jersey (to Towson, Maryland) to pick up my son from college and then off we go! I booked the Navy Lodge.
MindyY7 My SR son is in div 098, as well. I've been trying to find others in the same division. We're staying at Spring Hill Suites, and will be going to Sarge's Meet & Greet Thur. He's going to San Diego, though for Sonar Technician A School
Sarge has posted the sign-up RSVP for his Meet & Greet on Thurs March 6th. I will be there wearing my Proud Navy Mom Sweatshirt!!
For sh*#ts and giggles....My SR has always hated clowns....so, we are all sending him pics of ugly clowns LOL I wish I could see his face, as he opens his letters. Now, he'll be wondering, with each letter if there's another clown pic in there. LOL We just had to do it.
