These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Britmum- I was reading that they can have a pair of contacts with a small bottle of solution sent in a Manila envelope & we should write on the outside of the envelope that contacts are for PIR.

No letter for me today either. Thanks for sharing yours with us Laurablue and NewBeginnings! Hope you all don't mind, but right now, your news is my news too! Ha ha!  Rooting for the rest of us to get letters tomorrow...and wouldn't a call be nice!? :)  Sure am missing my boy.

so..I have lived vicariously through all the info that gets posted here from our SR.  It helps put the puzzle together with the parts that mine doesnt get around to.  I got a letter today!  They are never long enough, I want every detail, but I will take what I can get.  Thanks ladies for sharing what you have.  It helps so much!  Unfortunately he turned the knife a little deeper in my guilt when for some weird reason my phone rang once and went straight into voice as I was trying to answer it last wednesday. Well, obviously he hadnt received my letter that told him how sorry I was and I had nothing to do with the technology issue (besides almost throw my phone!). BUT, I have been able to replay his message to everyone willing to listen, just so I can hear his voice again!  LOL!

for what it is worth....here is what he wrote:

hey guys! I'm sorry I haven't written for a while. I have been extremely busy working. Yeomans are responsible for every appointment every recruit in the division has to make. That is now 79 people in Division 104. ( 2 people have been ASMo'd (sent back) since after P days. :(

We are on 3-2 day already. We get snow about every 2 nights off and on. In certain areas the base, drift can get up to 4 feet tall, depending on wind and sunlight. I missed my allotted phone call last week because I was siq from having my wisdom teeth removed. I am glad this is only a1 time experience.
I tried calling you guys on Wednesday! Mom, keep your phone on! Please? Getting to talk to you guys makes my whole week better.

We go to bed around 2200 and reveille is at around 0430 or 515 depending on the p.o.d ( plan of the day).

I got my first military style haircut yesterday!  :-)

emotionally, physically, and spiritually, I feel great. I really miss you all and love getting your letters, pictures, drawings, thoughts, hopes, concerns. 3 - 2 day! Isn't that amazingly fast? The days are long but the week so short!

PS by the way the logo on the outside of the envelope is blacked out because the post office tries to read it as a stamp. This gets it quicker to you. love you all!

Blessedbeyondmeasure: thanks for sharing. That was a great letter from your son. I wondered about the black out mark on the envelope. I also am living vicariously through everyone's letters. I love hearing all the tidbits, it helps to put all the pieces together. Halfway there, can't wait to see my son!

This is for Div 104.

On the 6th he said "Today was the day things start to get serious". He said 2 went home for medical reasons, and 2 more has to start bootcamp all over again bc one got hurt & the other had an attitude. If u get sick & have to miss more than 5 days u get held back. Yikes!!! I pray all of our SRs stay healthy. They've come to far to have to start over.

This might interest some of your SRs, after A school they can sign up for "Rap". It's when they can go to work at any recruiting off for a week!!! So basically they can come home for a week wo having to take leave. I'm was excited to hear bc our son will only be a month or so old by that time.

He also said he'll get his orders on Week 6, but they're on Week 3-2 Day on Feb 7.

Just to clarify on the RAP a little bit. RAP duty can only be used between school and their permanent duty station. If they are continuing to C School after A School, they are only eligible for RAP after C School.

The five days is still charged against leave and then "given back" after paperwork is complete.

Rough is right!  My SR said they have begun intensive PT, he gave the acronym but I don't remember it specifically.  He said they were exercised until he and several others passed out.  He said there were guys screaming and crying but hanging tough.  This was in a letter to his big sister...not mom.  I think he knows I would be upset.  And he's right.  It rips my heart out to know he's going through this.  He's not the only one wondering if he made the right decision at this point.  Sleep won't be easy tonight!
