Hello Friends

That day is fast approaching, we will finally get to meet the women who have been with us through our ups or downs. helped us wipe our tears and laughed with us along the way in this new journey that has not only changed our SR's life but ours as well.

I am working with Sarge to spearhead the volunteering for our PIR Meet and Greet and I need your help.

***We are looking for donations of raffle baskets or raffle items and volunteers to help with the distribution of name tags and the selling of raffle tickets before dinner. Please let me know if you are interested.***

Here is a bit more info on the night.

 * There is a meet and greet at the RAMADA INN please note this is not affiliated with Sarge. His  MEET AND GREET is free to all families and is proudly sponsored by Sarge, his lovely wife and the Sundance Saloon.*

Sarge is a fountain of great information, he has great suggestions on how to save money while in the area. Other tidbits and goodies you won’t find on other websites or at other meet and greets. There are some great traditions from past Meet and Greets and new traditions that will make this night memorible for the whole family.

A lot of parents decorate their hotel room doors in support of their Sailors PIR. Please make sure you pass the word when decorating about the Meet and Greet at the Sundance Saloon.

***We are looking for donations of raffle baskets or raffle items and volunteers to help with the distribution of name tags and the selling of raffle tickets before dinner. Please let me know if you are interested.***

Here are a couple of things to know for the night,

  1. First thing you should know is if you can’t make it at 5:30 not to worry the event goes to 9PM and there will be the buffet and any information that you might have missed available.

  1. 5:30PM – Doors Open, Meet the Mom’s that have been your Rocks, supporting you throughout your 8 weeks at boot camp J  Make sure you put your N4M name on your nametag. You can purchase raffle tickets for the baskets and other raffle items donated and there will be a cash bar.  Since this is a private event. All ages are admitted. Please be responsible and have I.D. ready when ordering from the bar. No one under 21 is allowed to consume any alcoholic beverage.

# 1.  6:15 PM The Buffet Opens, includes Pasta, Fried Chicken, Sausage and Peppers, Meatballs, Olive Garden Bread Sticks, fruit trays, salad and brownies. During dinner there will be a film on Boot Camp, Battle Stations 21, and the continuous slide show on what to expect this weekend.

# 2. 6:50 PM-7:10 pm -    Pledge of Allegiance, A Tribute to Veterans and National Anthem

# 3. 7:10 PM - 7:50 PM - Overview of slides that were shown during dinner including shortcuts to    graduation hall which will save you an hour of waiting on line at Buckley road.

# 4. 7:50 PM – 9:00 PM – Q & A session and sign-ups for shuttles to P.I.R. Then the FUN BEGINS Drawings for the raffles and  the something new.

Sarge and US Boot Camp Gear have teamed up to bring the competitive nature and teamwork that our SR Divisions have been applying for the last 8 weeks to their N4M’s. There will be a divisional dance off or can you say our version of the "Captains Cup" This will be to the Village People song “In the Navy”. Winners will be awarded gift certificates for divisional t-shirts donated from US Boot Camp Gear. So ladies lets bring our BOOGIE BOOTS!

Raffles and Donations:  To help offset the cost for Sarge and his wonderful wife who organize this for families like ours each PIR weekend, we are asking if possible to donate a gift basket/bag or something that represents your state, business or just something you love and want to share.

Looking for some ideas, we have them

• Great State of Texas Basket including BBQ sauce, Grill Tools, an Apron and Mitts

• Great State of Wisconsin with cheese and meats.

• Great State of Florida with citrus, alligator jerky and some sunshine :)

• What Navy Dad would not love a gift basket with tools or sporting items?

• You can always find the way to a SR Mom’s heart with a gift basket of Chocolates and Coffee.

*** Please remember there could be several moms in the same state that could each contribute a bit of home to rock out a wonderful raffle basket. So let’s show our SR’s that we also have the same Division Teamwork that they are learning in Recruit Training!***

New Mexico is famous for its green and red chile.  I will put together a basket along those lines.  We're also the hot air balloon capital so perhaps something balloon'ish.  I'll be flying in so may not be able to fit a basket in the luggage but will try.

I'll gladly donate a raffle basket!  Maybe the "MN Arctic Vortex Basket", lol.  No, something definitely NOT related to winter! I'll get creative ;)

I would love to volunteer to help out, but I am not sure what time we will be arriving in IL. Are you looking for help before or during the event?  My daughter and I would be happy to help during the event; don't want to commit to before the event, in case weather lengthens our 7 hour drive.

So excited!

Thank you, Jeter'sMom for stepping up and helping Sarge out!!

This is super great info for everyone!!  Well done, Jeter'sMom!!

For anyone who is flying an is interested in contributing a basket or item and are not sure about flying withit  I can offer a suggestion. You can send it to your hotel via US mail with TRACKING or UPS and they will hold until you check in  just let them know it is coming.

Emptynester77 and Laura what great ideas :)

UPDATE on Raffle ticket $

1 Ticket for $ 1.00

6  Tickets for $ 5.00

You would put your name on the ticket and place in the box in front of the basket(s) you are most interested in. Tickets will be sold at the door and during the buffet once the buffet and slide show is complete we will draw the winners. Good luck!

Count me in.  I will bring one from Sequim, WA

You ladies ROCK !!!!!

Emptynester77 that would be great. We are expecting to get into town at the SpringHill Suites about 12 o'clock the latest. I'll double check with Sarge and see what time he would like us there thank you thank you again!
