Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 103 and 104

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Carrie, I also want to thank you, your husband and your son for your service! It takes a special family to give what you have given! I am adding my prayers to Karin417's for the three of you. Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” I am confident that He is with you on this journey, and my prayer is that you find comfort and peace in His presence.

I feel as grateful for this group as you just expressed. When no one else, even supportive family and friends, could understand my tears, anxieties and need for information, you ladies have. You've all been gracious enough to share your letters and phone calls and encouragement. In your "presence", my roller coaster emotions have felt normal. I owe you all many thanks as well; you have been an answer to prayer again and again!

Carrie (sh 14 Div 104 PIR 3/14) - I echo what the other ladies have said - many thanks to you and your family for your service! When it comes to our sons and daughters -- you can throw all logic and reason out the window. They have us by our heart strings and it just doesn't matter how confident and strong we are -- we turn into -- for lack of a better term -- goo! They are our "babies" after all! I'm totally with you! : )

Before we know it -- our divisions will be marching through those drill hall doors -- and we are going to be on a whole other level of "goo"! I think I'm just going to skip mascara altogether!

104 Ladies, I got a letter dated from the 18th saying we "might" get a call next Monday. I hope he meant today. I saw a few divisions gettings calls yesterday so hopefully we'll be next!!!

I suppose we're still on "radio silence".  Haven't had a phone call for 3 weeks. Anyone else?

No call, no letter today. Guess hell week was something else.
Praying for our SRs :)

I haven't received a phone call either -- but I did receive a couple of letters today from my SR. He said "Hell Week" should be called "Best Week" -- said the only thing that stunk was having to get up at 0330! So I assume he really enjoyed it! He said the division has earned 7 flags and if they get one more they'll be in the Hall of Fame. Not sure what that is about -- but it sounds really awesome! He said they came up with a new way to get the SRs to stop talking -- take liberty away from graduation. He said that would stink and he's being really quiet -- but that he has been quiet anyway. So... I'm sending lots of prayers up for all of our SRs! PIR will be here before we know it!

Funny, we got different counts on the number of flags and differing info on the Hall of Fame prediction! Ha ha...lots going on, maybe mine lost count! Glad it was a good week for yours, it sounds like mine is really relaxed and enjoying himself too! I'll be praying that they're all quiet, I would be heartbroken if they lost liberty.

He actually wrote 6 flags then crossed it out and wrote 7 -- could have been the medication he was on -- as he finally had his wisdom teeth removed! Ugh! Yes -- I will pray for silence -- I want all the liberty time I can get with my SR! : )

Love your SRs detail! I bet they all look so handsome in their uniforms - can't wait to see them! Oh and the "candy plant" -- gosh I think I would wet myself for sure!

I got a letter today! In his letter he mentioned that they would be calling on Monday (this last), but obviously that didn't happen. :( Hopefully they were just busy and not in trouble. They got their dress uniforms and he says they were all a little "giddy" when they tried them on because they know they're almost through. Says he looks GOOD in uniform and can't wait to wear it for PIR! He got "sharpshooter" with the 9 mm...hooray! So far 103 has earned 3 flags and 2 pennants which is all they can earn up to this point. If they earn the last flag they get a Battle-E flag and are a battle efficiency division. (Not sure what that means, but it sounds good.) Since they don't have enough flag holders for all their flags, he says their main yeoman will have to carry it! That sounds like a good problem to me. :)

Mentioned staging photos for their Cruisebook and that they had a lot of fun with that. The photographer planted some candy in someone's rack and when the RDC found it they all just about "wet themselves" and their faces turned white as their toughest RDC started yelling at them. He says he kinda thought the whole thing was staged, but it was still one of the "freakiest things I've gone through here" and was glad they could all laugh about it later.

He's relieved they're almost done with all the "hard stuff" and is looking forward to the "chill time" they get after Battle Stations when they just get to prep for PIR and A School. Says he doesn't think they will make "Hall of Fame" because of the number of compartment hits they've had, but that they're still working great as a division. Told me I could send cookies for his RDCs now, that some other divisions have had cookies delivered and they didn't IT them.  But...that I could send them after Battle Stations to be safe, because they can't IT them after that! LOL He must really be feeling relaxed and like his RDCs to suggest that!

He is looking forward to seeing us all at PIR, they are all missing their loved ones!  I wonder if they know how much we're missing them too?! So good to hear from him!! Hope to hear that you all got some good news too!

Does he know the other divisions RDCs received cookies, or did they RDCs tell them they did? That is the question. LOL

Ha ha...excellent question ellen0502!  LOL My SR is so serious, that if they're teasing him, he isn't necessarily going to pick up on it.

Thank you all for sharing your letters.  I usually don't get mine until Friday.  I read the candy thing on another SR's mom letter on FB, apparently it's old hat.  I sure hope they're faking them out about losing liberty.  Not sure I could handle that!
