Having a tough time tonight. Not sure why tonight of all nights, but my husband and daughter have even been talking about they much they miss him. My son and I talked all the time, about everything, and not having that is hard. The chat room on here is too busy, so I guess I will find something else to do with myself. lol

Maybe because it's a Friday night and the weekends you would have more time with him? I don't even know how to do a chat room. So many things to read on this site and the videos of bootcamp and utube a bootcamp videos are good. Check out the letter questionnaires and jokes and word searches you can send. Been keeping me busy all night. Just think, we made thru one Friday. Should be 7 more I think!!

Doing a little better this morning. My other daughter ended up calling last night, she was going through the same thing. I think it has to do with him being the baby, that everyone is feeling low. He is not suppose to be old enough to go off on  his own. lol. I know we all get better. I hope anyway lol.

Awwww, Hugs. Nothing else I can say or do but send hugs.

Glad to hear you are doing alittle better this morning. I still have all the decorations up from her party. I just can't take them down yet. She's my baby too. We can do this! Can't wait until that box gets here!!!

Stephanie, check your My Page.

I have learned that my daughter will be in Division 158.

If that is from the recruiter, remember it is best to wait on the form letter.

Reasons to wait on the form letter:

1. The PAO at the RTC asks that loved ones wait on the form letter before mailing letters.

2. The recruiter does not always give the right address and letters that do not have the correct address may be returned or may be delayed several weeks in getting to your recruit since it will not be a high priority for those in the mail room to look up the correct information.

3. Even if you do have the correct information, your recruit will not receive letters that are mailed before receiving the form letter much quicker, if at all, than letters mailed after receiving the form letter because recruits do not receive mail until they are in their permanent ship and a Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained. The first Mail Call is on day 1-3 or 1-4 DOT.

***If it has been at least 2 calendar weeks since your SR arrived at the RTC (that is not the case for you) and you don't have the form letter, then yes, it fine to get the address from the recruiter and send letters. Double-check the info against that at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.

How did you find out the division already?

She probably called the recruiter or the recruiter called her. See my reply above about getting the address from the recruiter.

Thanks for the information, because my Son's Recruiter said to call Monday, and they would be able to give the info to us. Now I guess I should not trust it.

My daughter called me last night. Her RDC let her make a quick 1 minute phone call and she said she was in Division 158 and today (yesterday) was her official P1 day. I know from experience that you get just 1 call the night you arrive which I got the night she arrived but for some resson, she was allowed to call me again last night. I could hear the RDC in the back ground telling her to hurry up. I honestly think that she was given permission to call because she was very emotional and I think the RDC thought hearing my voice might help....I hope it did. I talked as calmly as I could but hearing her so upset hurt my heart. My other daughter could hear her crying on the phone and it flipped her out. I told my SR that I loved her so much and that we were all doing just fine. It was a VERY quick call. I also thank God for the RDCs compassion. I know this call was not typical but I'm glad she could see a young new SR as a human and show compassion. I really hope the call helped.
