Teri,
My son left March 10 from Jacksonville. Today's his birthday and I'm missing him terribly. How are you doing?

That has tobe hard. Didyou still celebrate? I am doing ok. Different things trigger tears.

We'd actually celebrated the Saturday before he left.  When we got "the box", I was sad to see that they had made him return the watch we'd given him for his birthday.  He'd chosen that watch since he was told he could wear one as long as it was black.   Anyhoo, now just waiting for the form letter.  Hope to get it soon as we've written lots of letter already!  How are you holding up?

Hi Teri. My son left 3/11 from Columbia, SC. Missing my baby boy!

Hi. Did he go to Great Lakes? How old is he

Yes he left for a Great Lakes. He is 21. He will spend his 22nd birthday there on 4/18.

I am with you on that one. My son left from Columbia on the 11th as well. Mine is 19 and I am a tearful mom everyday....I miss my boy!

My baby girl ships Tuesday morning! Ugh. I've been good with controlling my tears. But it's getting harder! I can see the excitement in her eyes when she talks about leaving. I'm nervous for her but in the same breathe I'm excited!

I know i will be hard but I agree when

Btw my daughter is all California, not sure if she is ready for the Illinois weather, lol.talk about a temperature change!

On top of all the excitement, she cut off 9" of hair. Let's hope the Navy folks don't need to cut anymore, she would be furious.

Hi all.

My daughter left on March 11 from Los Angeles, CA.  She's a California girl.. I hope she doesn't freeze to death!!!

We got the box with her clothes and phone today.  I thought it would be harder, but no tears for me or my husband.  What a difference from last week!!

I hope that we get to meet some of you if we end up having PIR the same date... who knows, maybe some of our kids will know each other!!

Meanwhile, hang in there. That's what I keep telling myself.

Feel free to send me a reply. I would love to share experiences.
