Hi there...
My daughter just got stationed in Lemoore she will be arriving tomorrow and I was wondering what everyone can tell me about it. Things like how big the barracks are, are there shuttles to get around, things to do on base, how many in barracks, etc any info would be greatly appreciated!!
Also was wondering about mail delivery and cell phone and internet coverage on the base. She has AT&T.

Not sure about the barracks, but there are shuttles to get around. My son uses one, as I have been trying to get his truck shipped out to him since March.  Having difficulties getting a company to call me back with a driver. He takes it to and from work from time to time.  Sailors out there with vehicles are very helpful with rides if they are going that way.  He loves it out there,  the mountains are a couple hours away for hiking. camping and snowboarding, and the beach is an hour away.  He loves to skate on his board, so naturally being Cali there are parks everywhere.  I think he said the mall is like 45 minutes away. I hope this helps and I hope she loves it as much as my sailor.

Hi Strawberry Shortcake - My son has been in Lemoore for 2 years now.   I have no idea how big the barracks are.  I do know there are buses that take them from the barracks side to the working side.  My son didn't use them too often before he got his car because the schedule that they ran on didn't match up to his working schedule so he usually got rides from guys in his shop.  They usually work it out among themselves pretty quickly.  We have AT&T for our cell service and he doesn't seem to have any problems with phone reception up there.  He also signed up with the cable company up there (Charter or Comcast, I think) and they hooked him up with wi-fi and basic cable in his room in the barracks.  They are used to working with the Navy people on the base and set him up with automatic payments and are used to putting things on hold when they go on deployments.  The mail delivery (for my son at least) has been spotty.  His mail is sent to his shop so, for some reason, it takes him forever to get anything.  I've advised him to look into getting a PO box out in town so that he can actually get mail but he is looking into moving into an apartment soon so that is on hold for now.

He hasn't hated living in Lemoore.  It helps that we live in San Diego so when he has a long weekend he can drive down for a short visit.  But he has a group of friends and they are always up to stuff in either Hanford or Fresno.
