I am from Boston, and my son leaves on the 20th as well!  Looking to meet some other moms?

Awesome! My son leaves for the hotel today heads to Great Lakes tomorrow,I am sad and happy.... he went away to college for 4 years ...so you would think I would not be so stressed but this is different---always in contact--he is my youngest son I have 2 boys ,,and 1 daughter..all ready looking forward to graduation----Iam sure your son is excited and looking forward to his new life ---we will be  strong together lets keep in touch!!!!!!

Hi Jersey Mom!

I haven't been on this since Friday, so I apologize.  Yes, it was a very crazy, and emotional weekend!  Not sure how it was going to all go down, but it went as well as could be expected.  I'm proud and sad, as I know I will miss him terribly over the next four years!  My son Peter is a great kid, wonderful personality, and the glue to our family.  He is our middle child.  He tried college for a year or so, and at the time it wasn't working for him, so this was another option!  I have a nephew in CA right now with the Navy and is loving it.  So, hoping for the best!

We weren't sure what to expect yesterday, but after we left the swearing in ceremony, the "recruits" left for Logan Airport, and sat there for 6 hours!!  Supposedly, their flight was cancelled to CHI, and they had to do a stopover in Cleveland, and then arrived in CHI.  I got my call from him at 2:30 this morning!  That's a long day to be traveling!!

So your son is traveling today?  Please keep in touch and let me know how he makes out?  So, he must be about the same age as my son, 22!!

What's your gut feeling on a graduation date??  I'm guessing the 18th or 25th of July?

Hi----its been crazy---a last minute change hitch in his paper work so his date was changed from Monday to today Wednesday----he left this afternoon with a smile on his face---so he is at hotel tonite and leaves for Great Lakes tomorrow. Iam thinking your guess about graduation must be pretty accurate---but there are so many variables--lets keep fingers crossed--my son is 23 graduated from college last year--went to a couple of recruiting meetings on campus and has been determined that this is the route he wants to go---I have 3 children--one son a year older and a daughter 18---I have only fallen apart 2 times today---lets keep in touch---guess I will get my call Thursday nite or the wee hours of Friday morning!!!!

Hello---what a crazy time right---my son leaves for hotel this evening---flight is tomorrow--how is it going for you? Hope all is well

We are from New Orleans, La. and our son leaves for the hotel tonight and then goes to Great Lakes, Ill. on May 22, 2014. You would think that sending him off to college and watching his graduation you be prepare for this....But you are not!

Hi---you are so right---I only had two melt downs today---he left this afternoon with a smile on his face--he is my middle child he is 23 but still my baby---we lived in Houston for many years spent a lot of time in New Orleans---my( 2 boys and girl) children were born in Houston---we will be strong together-- thanks for your reply
