My son is graduation on Aug.7th and my daughter's rehearsal dinner is that same evening. I fly out of Boston on the 6th at 7:00pm arrive in Chicago at 9:30pm. The morning of the 7th I go to his graduation and must leave by 10:30am to drive back to O'Hare Airport for a 12:30 flight back to Boston. I arrive in Boston at 3:55 then need to drive at a good pace to get to Mt Washington Hotel in NH by 6:30...I will most likely be late to the rehearsal but probably on time for the dinner.

Does anyone know the best means of transportation from the airport to my hotel (Quality Inn 2 miles from base) then from Inn to graduation then from graduation to airport? Im wondering if I should rent a car or take a taxi? I hear that there is a train out there. Does anyone know the name of the train station to contact or if it is reliable? I am in a bit of a crunch!

My son, Taylor, is asking permission (hopefully this week) to attend the wedding as he is officiating his sister's wedding on the 9th. Yes, a big day for both of my children.

Any help is much appreciated!

:)

Liberty is called at 10:30 so you are not going to see your Sailor after PIR and will have a time with everyone leaving at that time. Call Sarge and get his input. He has a taxi service and he is a wealth of information and has a Meet and Greet at the Sundance Saloon in Waukegan the night before PIR. His cell number is 847-212-0246. His M&G and services have been getting great reviews. Find Sarge on N4M as OldSarge. I suspect that he will tell you to use his services, but that may actually be the best option since he or one of his drivers will know the fastest route to get you to the airport on time. Sometimes there is a line for turning in a car rental and you won't have time for that since you don't know what traffic will be like and you are going to be cutting it very close on time as it is. The Metra station is across the street from the RTC, but there might not be a train when you need it.

Thank you I just sent him an email. You have been most helpful. :)

You are very welcome.

Check your My Page.

Are you sure of your dates? PIR should be Aug 8.

Good catch. PIR is on the 8th.

I'm just worried that she has reservations for the wrong day.

Her comment within the PIR group indicates her reservations are correct:

I just booked my flight out to Chicago arriving the eve of August 7th then leaving Chicago on the 8th at 12:35 returning to boston by 4:00 then driving pretty fast to make it to my daughters rehearsal dinner that night. We are hoping that my son will get permission to attend her wedding and will be able to fly out that Friday sometime after graduation. Its a pretty busy day

No, your son is graduating on Friday, 8 August. I hope that your post in your PIR group was correct and not your original for this discussion or the one you just posted.

That was a cut and paste from Taylor's mom so she posted two different things. I hope the one with the correct PIR date is the right one.

Thank you everyone for catching the mix up of dates. I do have the correct dates for flights and transportation just mixed it up here. Thank you for all of your help!

Does anyone know how to contact the commanding officer at bootcamp and at A school in Pensacola Florida? I was told that even though my son is filling out paperwork for that weekend to attend his sister's wedding so he can perform the wedding that I should also contact both places. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with this?
