Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 261 and 262

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi proud mom. I received my first letter yesterday. He says he misses my cooking lol. Not me my cooking. The countdown to graduation begins. I can't wait to see him.
Finally got my first letter. Son is doing well in division 261. Had his dental work this past week. So proud of him.
I just got a phone call from my son. He got his wisdom teeth pulled. He seems sad. I'm just having a hard time with all of this.

Baseballmom2817, don't worry, I'm sure he's just tired.  When I've asked my son how he's doing he too seems down and replies O.K.  We only have 32 days until we get to see our SR's!  It will get better.  My son also had his wisdom teeth pulled.

Thanks Kristina, makes me feel a little better.

My son (262) said they passed their exams last week with such high scores they get to carry a flag at graduation.  I don't know what exactly that means, but he seemed so proud!

Is anyone else buying tickets yet for travel?  I don't want to wait too long, but don't want to jump the gun either...

Hi Amandajoy!  I bought my tickets last Friday.  I am thinking that the longer you wait to purchase them they more expensive they will be.  I also went through Southwest, because you can make changes without a charge, or at least I've done that in the past.  My son is also in division 262!

Anandajoy My Daughter is in Div 261 and is a stick as well as your son, that is what they call the people that carry the flag. The best part about it is you will see him first as he will be leading his division when they open the big roll up doors. It is  sight to see for sure very emotional.

I am looking forward to meeting other families. Only 31 days till PIR. Who's counting? :-) I am really enjoying this site as it is helpng me understand what my son is going through. He called yesterday and sounded great. Ship 03/Div 261
I'm counting too! Visit US NAVY RECRUITS on Facebook. They have a trivia question on Tuesdays. We can get some photos of our SR's ship3/div 261

Just 30 more days!  Can't wait to see my son (262) and meet his friends' families!

I just received a call from my daughter.  She called Sunday,  so I was surprised to get another today.  She said this will be the last call until after Battle Stations.  :(  She sounded good and asked that the letters please keep coming. She is 262.
