Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Son Leaving Soon
I have no idea if I am doing this right or not but here I go. My son is leaving for boot camp on 8/5/14. I have no idea what to expect. My heart is breaking and i feel so alone. I feel like I am being silly for being so emotional but it is going to be so hard.

Your recruit will not get in trouble for having letters at the first mail call. Any letters that arrive early are held until the Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained.

RTC requests that you NOT mail letters to your Recruit until you receive the form letter. Disregard their request at the risk of having your letters delayed, misdirected or lost.

I know, raised my son by myself, since he e was 1, he's goin to Boise next week for test and physical, I'm so upset. Proud of way he's doing but not being able to talk to him for 2 months is gonna be real hard

Hi syfyfan14 - My son will be a PR. I haven't joined the group for A school yet but have checked out the website some. I received the form letter last week - it had a little note from him =)
I just miss my soon-to-be sailor! Not prepared to cut the umbilical cord yet I guess. Hard to believe he will only be home to visit from now on =(
I've read on this site his division has been in trouble some and am hoping he will still stay motivated. He's worked so hard.

My daughter left for a trip with friends today. She returns Sunday. She goes to MEPS Tuesday and ships Wednesday. I have only one more day with her (Monday). I have been in tears since she left at 0630 today. I feel your pain! She is my best friend, confidant, my everything.

Try to stay strong. I surprisingly kept it together while around my son while he was around me. I have fallen apart to many times to count.
Are you going to be able to watch her being sworn in? I hope so. It was the proudest & most difficult thing to see. He is my baby. He has been the greatest son a mother could ask for. They want this. I wanted him to do this. I just hope that he doesn't regret it.
I am so looking forward to his phone call

We will be watching the swearing in...but maybe not the airport. They are not sure where she will fly out of. She may leave at an airport 20 minutes from MEPS or one that is 2 hours away. That drive home will be terrible. Trying to hang in there!
