For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Also miss my son like crazy. he is 18. ship 14 div. 292. I did get a second call today at 200 pm. or 1400 i guess. it was great but i heard they will not be able to call again until the second to last week? I heard that on here. I like to reply to people because sometimes i get 0 replies.

Is your husband the Master at Arms? My son said it was a guy that was 29 and was a "real cool guy".

Hi all, My husband is in DIV 292. Can't wait for PIR! He will be heading to Port Hueneme, Ca for A school. Lucky for us we are about 2 hours away! I hope we get to see him while he's there!

Hi, my son also arrived on the 17th. I finally got a letter! He says he forgot my phone number. ugh. oh well, sending it to him now. Also he is 18.

Hi All, My son is 23. He said he feels like one of the old guys there. It was so good to get a letter from him, even if it was short. He said that he gets along great will all his ship-mates. I can't wait to hear his voice again.

My son is in Div 291. He arrived in Great Lakes on July 17th, leaving home pretty much after graduation. He's 18. I was blessed to receive two calls from him. I'm so proud of him!

Just got off the phone with my son. Stand by your phones..He said the penicillin shot was the worst part. Will not be calling next week. Has been standing watch the last 2 nights. They didn't do so well with inspection for their division, but seems confident that they will do better. Anyone with a son around 23 yrs of age of Oklahoma? last name begins with "T"?

blueeyes, I am so sorry that your son hasn't been feeling well. My son said almost everyone there has a cold. I am sure they will send him to medical if he gets bad. It is the worst thing to know your child is sick and they are not near you so you can't take care of them. Hang in there. We are all in this together.

What is your sons name. I will tell my son to say HI in the next letter I write. My son is known as Doc and they are in the same Div. Maybe your son can do some deep breathing and some visualization. I know yoga really helps with stress but I don't know if he wants anyone seeing him do yoga. but if he takes some deep breathes and clears his mind for a moment it might help. And prayer too!
