Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 261 and 262

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I feel the same way, Pinkcanary.  I guess we just pray, pray, pray either way.  I hate the not knowing what's happening.  Less than 2 weeks!

cuka3305, are you going to Meet and Greet?  Hope I get to meet you.  There aren't that many from Division 262 that are on here.

My SR is also in division 262.  I am going to Sarge's meet and greet.  I look forward to meeting you both, cuka3305 and pinkcanary!

Can't wait!  It's going to be so exciting!  I wonder how we'll know each other?  Anybody know?

My girl is also Div 261. Haven't spoken to her in over 2 weeks. I miss hearing her voice. Letters keep coming every Weds. She also had been sick with a sinus infection. Her last letters spoke of live-ammunition training and taking "official" portraits. We are now in countdown mode, Moms. We got this. HOOYAH!

We will be at Sarge's meet and greet, I have also ordered the PIR ribbons with my sailor's name and div 261. Can't wait to meet everyone.

I'm so lost on how this group works... I've commented a couple times but not sure if it went thru. My daughter is in div 262 that is due to graduate next week & I'm wondering what the meet & greet thing is

There are a couple of them but the one that was mentioned above is Sarge's.  Here is a link to some info about it.  Hope to see you there.  :)

Any news from 261

Just received a 22 minute call from our girl. She says battle stations are scheduled for Tuesday night and we will receive the "I'm a Sailor!" call on Wednesday. Hang by your phones everyone!! Good luck to all our SRs!

I was so happy to hear from my daughter yesterday! She got to call me after the Captains cup got to compete in the relay race and the sea bag race. She also told me the gas chamber wasn't bad either it just made her tear up. I just can't believe how upbeat and happy she sounds every time she calls. She said her RDC's are really cool and bootcamp isn't bad at all. I'm so proud of her. I'm bummed that I will miss the I'm a Sailor call as we will be flying to great lakes that day.

Soccermom2, my son called yesterday too.  I was pretty excited!  I asked him about the captains cup, and he said "not us, but the brother division got second."  He also said that the gas chamber didn't bother him, and he coughed a little bit when he had to start to talk, and also got a little teary.  He mentioned that fire fighting was so much fun.

I'm going to try talking to the flight attendant about talking on my cell phone.  I'm so bummed that we will also be flying out, and will miss the "I'm a sailor" call.  I cannot wait....Friday cannot get here fast enough.  I hope to meet you on Thursday :)
