Hi Keri, I'm new to this site,.My son was on the airplane too headed to great lakes as well.

very cool..... (sorry I haven't cheked this sight in a couple of days. just needed some time!)  My son was going from Portland.

Hi Keri.  How are you holding up?  Did he just leave this week?

Im new to all this as well.  My son was on the place on the 26th headed to GL as well.  I recived his box yesterday.  Any word from your son yet?

My daughter left too;) all of our kids are together right now;))

Aww....Maybe...although there are a lot of recruits! What will your daughters job be?

I am one happy mama

I actually got to speak to my son on Thursday. It was a pleasant surprise to hear his voice considering it has only been a week in a half since he left. He called because he needed some information and a copy of his passport faxed to someone at GL's something to do with his top secret clearance and info about his dads family. We had a few different conversations because he kept having to call me back because my fax was not going through. He seemed okay for the most part. He was able to tell me a little about his journey so far. I was 100 % relieved once I heard his voice... I still miss him but man not as much as I had missed him this past week.. : )

So It was actually a blessing he needed the info or I wouldn't have gotten to speak to him.....

I'm in my feelings today, I miss my son so much, It's not the same since he has been gone.He arrived in

Chicago on Tuesday and it seems like he has been gone for weeks.I hope he's doing okay. I haven't received the box yet.

My son left for bootcamp on Aug 20th, received his "box" home on the 27th and his form letter on the 29th. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the 1st phone call on this Sunday.

Remember calls don't always come just on the weekend. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

I left info for you on your My Page.
