Hi Lisa, Im new at this too. The waiting is the hardest part but soon enough the letters will start coming in as well as the calls. My son has been gone since 9/11 and I just received my first letter 3 days ago. Being patient is trying, but excitement to finally hear from him was worth the wait. Blessings to you!!

My daughter shipped out on the 23rd as well. Got her PIR letter today. 11/21 for her. She is Ship 03 Div 014.

My son also left on 9/23.  Received the form letter yesterday and PIR is November 21st.  Looking for decent airfare now.  Good luck and hope you hear from your SR soon!

Good Morning All,

Mom's, I'm so glad we have each other. Although we've never really met we have a common bond; our kids are in Boot Camp. I love this site to receive encouragement and to give it. I read so many comments from so many of us who are waiting for letters to those that have received letters, to those that are elated that they received their first phone call. Well because I am so new at this and out of my 7 children it was my youngest that decided he wanted to enter into the Navy, I am so filled with pride for him, and for all of your kids for making this amazing choice for their lives. I can say the waiting is the most difficult part. Just wanting to know if he's ok, and yet having to trust God with his well being has been overwhelming. Missing my first call from him was devastating, and now since receiving two letters has made me feel so much better. We as mom's know exactly where to reach down for the strength we need to move forward in this venture with our kids. This is an amazing time for us all, and I just wanted to encourage you all to enjoy it, and on that day that we get to finally get to see all of our kids lets hug em tight as can be. This is going to cause them to grow in so many great ways. Congratulations to you all and thank you Mom's for your sacrifice's :) God bless you all!!

Received the form letter today! His PIR date is 11/21, ship 14 Div 011. I found out he was sick with a cold his first week and feeling very homesick. He's been expecting mail and hasn't received anything yet. Sent him a card today along with a letter to keep his spirits lifted.
Dalleen - so happy you received your letter today. It makes me sad that your son has been expecting mail and hadn't received any.

My son shipped on 9/24 and I have not received the form letter yet and I'm sure my son is feeling like yours did. It really breaks my heart.

Praying for all the moms out there and our future sailors. ⚓️

Hi,

I'm new as well and my son got there on 9/22 and his graduation is 11/14.  Did you get information on this yet?  I have crying moments myself.  He called yesterday and was very homesick.  Ugh....

I left info for you on your My Page.

Yayay I'm so happy I finally talked to my SR I'm so happy since I missed his first call... He was so happy to finally talk to me :) he's doing wonderful and sounds so good.. He can't wait for graduation.. I'm such a proud mom :)
Yay! When did you SR ship?
Waiting not so patiently for my letter! Maybe tomorrow.
Most of the recruits who arrived on 10/02/2014 will be in the Thanksgiving TG and will have PIR on Wednesday, 11/26/2014. Some who arrived on that date may have PIR a week later on 12/05/2014. You will just have to wait on the form letter to know for sure.

Thank you lemonelephant I am not counting my chickens before they hatch so I am not making any plans until I get the final word.  Thank you all admin team this site has been a blessing and has eased so many worries!
