Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

New Navy Mom
It has been 2 weeks since my son has left for BC. I have been anticipating his letter and I finally got it today! Even though nothing was personally said... it was from him . His PIR is Nov 21. I hope I can get the day off to drive to Chicago to see him! This time has gone by so slow and I am trying to keep occupied. I am afraid I am going to miss his call as I am going on a nursing mission trip to Ecuador. Even though my attention will be on my patient care... he is always on my mind. I am having a tough time going through this adjustment, but so proud of him!!

HI, My son left for boot camp on Monday! I can't stop thinking about him.If that is so about the teeth I would have had his out before he went.Seeing that the other moms are going through the same thing helps.

One of the reason many young men and women join the military is the opportunity to be independent. Not that they don't love their families or their life at home but just a chance to grow up. Moms & dads are protective by nature and often we over do ti. If their teeth need to be pulled, then they'll be pulled. Both my boys had their done by their own dentist and came home to recuperate. Seriously, they will be fine if it's done by the Navy dentist.
Be proud and encouraged that you have children who want to become adults and take responsibility. Be supportive unconditionally, be their biggest cheer leader but take a step away. Let them take this adventure with the Navy and discover what they are capable of.

My daughter got a letter from her sailor just today! I'm so excited--now we have his address and we all can start writing!!!!

Hi, I'm still waiting for my daughters letter she left 2 weeks ago today and I miss her so much. She is the eldest of 4 and my only girl. I did receive her box with her belongings last week but very anxious to get her letter. I sent her with a book of stamps and a calling card, hopefully very soon I get to hear her voice again. I'm wondering if they left around the same time if her PIR will also be 11/21?

I believe his PIR is either 11/21 or 22. Not sure. I hope your letter comes quickly!

Well that makes sense! His letter indicated that if his ship was "good" they could be done 11/14? Is that true?

Hello BeffMommy -- The PIR (graduation) dates are set for the divisions, so no, that isn't true, although it would be nice if they got out early for good behavior! 11/14 is the date for divisions 001-008 & 901; 11/21 is for 009-? & 902. Since you have his address, you also have his division number, and you can see which PIR has been assigned.

My son left last Wednesday and I am not sure what I need to be doing. I am thankful I found this site. I got his clothes back yesterday. I cried as I feel at a loss. Should I be doing something?

You are posting here, so it's a start. Grab a cup of coffee and read the comments on this site. Click MY PAGE tab. You'll find a welcoming comment from the N4M admin. Click on the Survival Guide. It will give you a broad general overview of where to go, what to do. Click on the links to the videos - they are great - makes you feel like you are right there. You are in the Boot Camp moms already. When you get the form letter, you should join the PIR group associated with your son PIR date. Good luck.
