Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 097 - 098

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is in Div. 097. When he called on Saturday, he said his bunk mate and the 2 on either side were great. I am so glad he is getting to know people and making friends.

My SR is in Div 098. Great to talk to her Saturday. She has made some good friends and said she is learning a lot.

My son is in DIV 098. We are from Northern California. My SR just turned 19yr old (on his first day at basic 1/7)

My SR is Div 098. After the call I think she is doing better. Can't wait to talk to her again.

Hello, just want to say Hi. Has anyone received any mail from our SR's? Missing my Baby today.

I haven't. From previous SR's from Great Lakes writing us. It takes four days for us to get a letter. We always received them on Thursday. I don't expect one until Friday since there was a holiday Monday.

That's good to know. Thank you.
Hello everyone. My son is in Div 098. When I spoke to him Saturday he appeared to be in good spirits. He's my only child so this has been rough for me but I am super proud of him and can't wait to see him at PIR!

My future Sailor is our only child too. The first few days were the worst. We are doing pretty good now. Just counting down the days.

I received a call on Saturday also for my son who is in 097. I missed his call but he left a message. Said he was doing ok but did not sound very happy

My son is in 097. We were really overwhelmed at how good he sounded. Made us feel so much better.

Christal yes it gets easier to deal with as time goes on and it really helped once I spoke to him and he was in good spirits. Mine didn't say he was making friends, he said they can't talk much to each other, and he is a very social person so I know that's different for him but I know things are going to get better. 35 more days!!! :-)
