Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Scamming our navy kids.
My sons roommate in Norfolk was scammed out of $2000.00 after trying to sell tires on Craigs list. Now my son just received a call from a dad saying that my son was with his daughter last night and she is under age. Now he is threatening to go to the police unless my sons deposits $500.00 into an account. The guy gave him the account number, my son has his phone number but is afraid to go to the police. He is afraid it will open an investigation and it will somehow delay his shipping out date. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Was he with an underage girl last night? If so, his troubles may be much worse than not leaving for Boot Camp.

No. He said it was snowing and he did not leave. He is not doing anything because he knows it is a scam. I told him to report it but he will probably not even do that.

Is he a Sailor stationed in Norfolk? If so, have him talk to legal and have them advise him.

I tried to get him to go talk to jag and report it but he didn't want to because he was going on his ship soon and he was afraid it may delay that. He is in Norfolk, he is on an aircraft carrier now. I am not sure what his job is yet. But he told the guy to go to the police, he said he didn't care. He hasn't heard from this guy again.
