My daughter left March 2nd and I was with her up until the airport. I came home and cried. She called from her  cell phone and said she was at Chicago Airport and that it was going to be like 45 min to GL and she would talk with me later. Exactly an hour, she called and gave me the "scripted" call and told me it will be 3 weeks until I heard from her. I told her she was strong and that this is what she was born to do and to go handle it.. She laughed and said "okay, and gave her love. I cried again. The next day was the hardest.. I cried and cried. The third day I was okay and on the fourth day, I got the box and cried again. I feel such like a whimp crying all the time.. goodness! But, I am getting better though. Her dad was in the US ARMY and is currently deployed so I know about the military but she's my firstborn and she's already organized and she will do fine.. I have no doubts. I tried to hear some stress in her voice when she called but I didn't. She's very strong and I am thankful for that.. I have another daughter (17) and a son(7) whom she did say if her brother broke down it would bother her. He did well.. we are very close. I homeschool all three and she was the first to graduate. I am so proud. I can't wait to get the form letter. Everything on this website prepared me and to listen to other moms tell their story has made this so easy. I am so grateful beyond imagination.. Well, just wanted to let you guys know I got the call and the box on time. Guess I will try to keep busy so I won't be crying so much! lol..

oh my you have a lot on your plate! Moving away from everything is already emotional and then to have your daughter to leave put icing on the cake. You are so strong and I sincerely wish you well:) I am sure you will be a blessing to whomever you meet. Best wishes to you dear! :)

Lourdes, no worries dear.. I am sure it will be there soon! They seem very organized so hopefully you will get it soon. Our kiddos are probably together..:)

Lourdes, check your My Page.

My oldest son leaves July 9th for boot camp and I'm already crying daily!  I know this is what is best for him and he is so excited so of course I support him.  But my selfish side isn't quite ready to let him go yet.  My son is very strong and unemotional...which I guess could be a plus for him thoroughout this experience...lol.  But for me...just heartbreak.  We are also a very close family.  You are absolutely NOT a wimp.  We love our children .  No shame in that!  Stay strong and know that you aren't alone!

Hi AmyMatt1214, Your son sounds a lot like my daughter!( strong and unemotional) I had so many emotions running thru my mind before she left.. Just make sure you spend lots of time with him and he will do just fine. This is the third day I haven't cried so I am making progress. lol. I got the form letter in today so I got her address so now I can stop stalking the mailman. I never been so happy to get a letter. Keep us posted on your son.. Please send me a message when he leaves if you just want to vent or chat.. I totally understand! Best wishes:)

Keyahsmommy...thank you so much! I'm spending a much time as I can with him and I love it! I still cry daily but I'm getting better. Some days are better than others. Thank you so much for the support...I'm sure you'll be hearing from me! Keep stalking that mailman! Lol...its for our kids! Keep in touch!
