My youngest son left for boot camp on Monday April 6th, I know it was his choice and I respect that and am very proud but at the same time very sad. We have not been on the best terms since December or maybe even before then, I did not get to see him leave since he Moved back to California from Texas and California is where he left from. I hate the not knowing of what is going on and how he is doing it drives me crazy. The only person that was in the military is my father-in-law and that was WWII he tells me about when he went through boot camp but I am sure things have change since then. If anyone has information about boot camp that would be great and would help me not be so crazy.

When do they get to make phone calls or write letters home from boot camp

Thank you so much

You will get a letter soon. Has information for graduation. It will be addressed by your son but it's only info they don't have time to write when it is sent. He will however get to write soon. My son told me boot cp was easy. He was in good shape when he entered. He said it's more of a mental thing and learning to follow instructions. Oh and he said repetition. He also said the last couple days were the hardest. There is a site that will tell you what they do. Don't get offended on graduation day when your son doesn't want to anything. They are completely worn out. I think Kollin said he went 30 something hours wo sleep. Bottom line your son is fine :) I was worried sick about mine and wrote him every day. Write him btw. They love hearing about what's going on.

He is in pretty good shape he has always been athletic, I guess the hardest part is that we us to be so close then when he moved he was so distant and hardly would even talk to me, so I am hoping he sends me a letter or something. He was not even sure if he was going to send his cell phone back to me or someone else. People keep telling me this will change him and things will go back the way they were I keep praying it will. I am hoping for the box it should be here soon from what I have read.
