hello everyone! my husband just graduated RTC May 1st and I am tryin to figure some things out. I know for a fact that during A school I am not permitted to leave with him and have housing assistance by the navy, but what about C school? If thats up to 6 more months would the Navy give us assistance? And would my husband be able to live with me in a apt? Or just weekend visits? I am so confused as how C school works.
Please Hep!

All married sailors receive BAH, a housing allowance, in order to pay the rent for their dependents. During boot camp, it takes a few pay cycles to show up, but he does get it back dated to day one. During A school, he will still receive it, even if you two do not live together.
C school is similar to A school. If it is less than 20 weeks long, then the Navy will not pay to move you there. He probably would not have permission to live with you full time. If it is longer than 20 weeks, then his orders probably are for accompanied, and he could live with you if you choose to move there. In any case, he will get BAH for you.
The allowance during boot camp and A school is based on your zip code. Otherwise, use the duty station zip code (or C school zip code if over 6 months). Here is the calculator:
Thank you so much for explanation on it. I'm new to this whole thing and with him always busy- it is up to me to do research. It's a bit overwhelming but that is why I love being on this site. :)
