My husband is supposed to graduate this Friday, June 5th. I have my travel all arranged but I'm concerned I haven't heard from him in 2 weeks now, the longest I've gone with no phone call. When will I get the "I Am A Sailor" call? Will I be called if he doesn't pass as well?

Also, he is going to "A" school there at Great Lakes. He will be in school for about 2 years. How long before he can apply for me to move out to Great Lakes? How long after that until my arrangements are made?

Thank you. I joined both groups. I haven't gotten a lot of help though. I guess I'll just wait and see.

"They can start Wed or Thurs night the week before PIR week...or...start Sun or Mon night of PIR week.  Just depends.

If an SR has not passed all of his/her final tests, he/she will not be allowed to do BattleStations until those are passed.  Most get that done in time to still PIR with their group, but occasionally someone won't and will be held back until the test is passed (in FIT DIVISION if failed PFA), then participate in BattleStations with another PIR group.  He/She will not be allowed to to participate in another PIR once they miss their own PIR,  but will instead head straight for A School upon the completion of BattleStations.  Those who pass before PIR can do BattleStations as late as the night before PIR usually.

The "I'm a Sailor" calls usually start around 2 pm GL time, but sometimes start later.  So best to have those phones close by all day."

Hi Dubbean, I found the above in discussion forum titled "BATTLESTATIONS: THEIR FINAL TEST". It looks like he may be doing the 12hr battlestation tonight. So just keep your phone with you at all times these next couple days. I'm sure he'll call. Prayers for you and your husband. I'm sure he's doing well, and you'll be seeing him very soon.

Thanks for the response. That helps.

My husband's last letter said no calls while they catch up and battleship is Tuesday and Wednesday. Hopefully Wednesday or latest Thursday we will get a call.

Thanks. I'm flying out at the crack of dawn Thursday so I hope he calls before then. What Division in your husband in? Mine is in 201.

201 also. I'm flying out redeye Thursday night from California. I'll get there 5:30 their time. I'm sure they will call soon. :)

Proudwifey16, you have been the most helpful person I've talked to on this forum. Thank you.

I'm so glad I could help. I k ow the feeling of being a new navy wife and feeling lost. I'm not to sure about "a" school living together except your sailors orders have to be like five or more months in one station to live with him. My son and I can't live with my husband till his "c" school even though his "a" school and "c" school is only 50 miles from us. But he won't return back to California until he's competed "AT" school in greatlakes. If you have his official orders you can apply for housing where he's stationed. Hope that helps a little.

So curious. What's his rating?

He has a contract for AECF.

He's a E3, He soon will be an E4

Rate is the same as rank for other branches (E-1 or SR, E-2 or SA, E-3 or SN) (At PIR it will be FN for your then Sailor). We seldom ask about rate. Rating is job or occupational specialty that one has a contract for. In your recruit's case, it will be ET or FC within AECF.

Also, he won't be E-4 until he finishes "A" School.
