Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Security Clearance issues in BC?
Good Morning....I apologize in advance for this is gonna be a long question. My Son has been in boot camp since 6/23. He is going to be CTI. Passed all the tests, and is going to live his dream....LOVES languages, and has worked so very hard to get CTI. Here's the thing....I have received 8 calls from him the first 2 weeks! All of which began with "This isn't a personal call Mom", and that he needed info for his security clearance. I know that with CTI, he needs top clearance, and we have been more than honest and forth-right with all that has been asked. Problem is...his biological father. We have not heard from him in 11 years, and during that time, alot of issues came to light concerning him. Like the fact that he is hiding out (last we heard) in the hills of north Georgia. I have NO idea of his true birthdate, and of his true birth place. Of course, these were only 2 of the questions my Son needed answered. I have no idea! Now, back when he was in DEP, we explained ALL of this to his recruiter, and he said that since he has been out of our lives for such a long period of time, that it would NOT affect anything. Well, apparently, it does. When I talked to my Son last night, he sounded almost frantic. I just don't understand. What do I do now? Is there ANYTHING at all? I have talked to his recruiter, and all he could tell me was that he didn't know what to tell me! WTH? I am not sure what I'm expecting posting this, but was just hoping for a little guidance. Maybe someone else who has been thru something similar?

Your recruiter is a sales person. His job is to bring in recruits. Seems like a good one might have told you there could be an issue, but perhaps he was unaware. With your son needing a top secret clearance, they will look into his history, and perhaps even go so far as to interview neighbors.
The fact that you don't know where his father is, or his birth date, could cause an issue.
The recruiter cannot help you and there is nothing you can do. Your son may have to change his rating to stay in the Navy. The Navy may accept your answers and they may not. All you can do now is wait. Or perhaps hire a detective to find his father.

A top secret investigation barely gets started in Boot Camp. Our daughter called when in A school asking about the five county seats in Ohio. I asked how many tickets did she have her reply "You don't want to know....." A top secret investigation can take 18 months. The investigators are good at what they do so be truthful............good luck. Please give us an update.
