I am so very thankful to have found the NAVYForMoms website and Facebook page. Without it, I would probably be curled up in a ball with three or four empty tissue boxes strewn around me! I am so very proud of my son...this is all just so unfamiliar!

I would really like to get to know other moms with sons or daughters who started boot camp on 7/8/15...as a single mom, I could certainly use the support, reassurance, and guidance!

Hi Everyone,  Just as an FYI. Great PIR group on FB sponsored by Navydep.com.  Should join!

I missed a call from my son at 10:20 this morning :( Hearing his voice would have eased my emotions some. I can't believe I missed it.

This early and at that time, it was probably for information for his security clearance. If so, he will call again. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

It was for security clearance. He left a message on a friends phone because my voicemail was full. It is empty now. When do you think he will call back? Today or possibly tomorrow morning?

It could be any time. Those calls are usually not on the weekend though since they are generally made during regular business hours.

Ok thank you.

You are very welcome.

I received my form letter but wish I would've booked my room earlier. I made reservations immediately after receiving the letter at the Navy Lodge. The biggest room they offered wasn't available. But a double queen room with a kitchen was only $72 per night. I really enjoy a good hotel when I travel. I thought about booking something more upscale for the occasion, but focused on what is most important. I'd rather be in the hustle and bustle of the event than under 1000 thread count sheets. I'm so excited!! Btw, the Navy Lodge allows for cancellation if you find out the date isn't 9/4.
Hey Sandra I'm also in Texas! Your driving? How long is the drive? Did you book your room? If so where did you book it? I am wondering where is the best place to stay?
How long is the drive from Texas Natters31? I'm in Dallas there are 3 of us so now I'm wondering if we should consider driving.

Natters, did the recruiter give you the division number? If so, is it 943 or 944?

The number should be there, but the recruiter may be abiding by what the RTC has put out and is not giving you the info--or he doesn't know how to read it (what is in the computer is really strange). I just asked because I could tell you if PIR is on the 4th or the 11th and also if he will most likely be playing an instrument or not. Division 943 is Triple Threat and has PIR on 09/04/2015 and that includes the band. Division 944 is Ship Staff/Honor Guard so his duties would not include playing an instrument.
