Hello Everyone,
My boyfriend of 2.5 years is currently at basic training. He has been there for a few weeks and I am doing much better then expected. I got his first letter yesterday and his graduation is on September 4th. I do not have any of the graduation information because he sent it to his mother. There are several questions about graduation and A school. After graduation, he has to go to A school in Pensacola Flordia. I want to attend his graduation but I am afraid that he won't be able to spend much time with me because he will have to go to Flordia. How much time will we have together after his graduation? If his mother and I drive seperately, will we both be able to get onto the base? Will I be able to visit him on weekends in Flordia? Will I be able to send him care packages when he goes to A school? Thank you for your advice.

First off, he would need to put you on the invited list or else you aren't getting in.
In all likelihood, he will not be able to spend much time with you. Depending on when he will be shipping out, you may have a few hours or less.
You can always walk into the base by parking in the train station across the street. It's actually much easier than driving in.
As to the Florida questions, I'm sure someone else can answer, but I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to send a care package, although they may not be able to receive anything for the first few weeks there.
Since my daughter was flying to Pensacola Saturday after PIR we were able to take her off base right away after PIR. We did park at the train station which I thought was a better decision than driving onto base. Your sailor will have to be back on base later that evening. Make sure he is there early! We had to have my daughter back around 7pm. She was on the bus at 3 am to go to the airport. Her flight left at 10:30am. Some fly out earlier, some later. He will know this information before PIR and then will share it with you. Plan on going to the airport when he gets there. Yes, I know it early but it is worth it. You can go pass security (with a pass) with him and spend whatever time you will have before his flight leaves.
Regarding A School, yes, you will be able to visit him on weekends once he classes up. Wait for him to give you his address and when it is ok for him to receive letters/packages. I have sent my daughter a few packages. We just got back from visiting her and we had her Friday at 4pm til Sunday at 9pm.
Good luck to you and your SR. Enjoy the time you spend with him:)
The airline usually limits it to immediate family members, but your Sailor may be able to hang out outside of the security area for a while depending on when the flight is. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
