For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 269 and 270
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Hi there, the SR's do get to make a phone call if they are set back for any reason. So at this point no news is good news. I hope we get another phone call this weekend but I won't hold my breath. I will just hold my phone at all times. I hope you hear something soon from your son and it is only GREAT news!!!

I recieved a call from my SR this morning. He sounds so good and is finally feeling like himself again. Not so homesick. He says everything is going really well and they actually start Small Arms training this week it wasn't last week. He was promoted to division leader for his group and he said things are starting to look up. He hates inspection because it is literally folding and unfolding clothes over and over again. I know how he feels as that is what I hate the most about doing laundry. Anyway I wanted to share as I am one happy momma today. Smiling ear to ear!!!

25 days and counting!! We received a call from our son (division 269) on Saturday morning. It was great to hear from him and he is sounding good. He said that several in his division are heading to Pensacola for A school and they are hoping to get roomed together. Looking forward to meeting some of you at Sarge's meet and greet on Thursday evening. We will be flying in to O'Hare and then have a 45 minute drive to our hotel. We should get to Sarge's around 6:00 p.m.

My son is Ship 14, DIV 270.......I am really not good with Navy lingo as an ex Army woman...lol....but He will be an SECF.....He seems to think he will be flying to his "A School"....but it was my understanding that the SECF';s trained right there in Great Lakes......? Any other SECF's out there?
