Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

first phone call home
Today was our first phone call. it was heartbreaking. Div 321. I was not prepaired for the flood of emotions that would come when I heard her voice. to make matters worse I am at work and half way through I lost signal on my cell phone. I feel devestated and then came the tears. I feel mostly bad because she was still talking and i can't even image the sadness she must be feeling when i wasnt on the line anymore. She sounds like she is having a hard time, homesick and a bit of trouble with numbness in one of he feet or leg.

I haven't received a phone call yet! I am happy you were able to hear your recruits voice. I hope things improve for your daughter!

I was on that emotional roller coaster everyday since my son left. I guess the not knowing was very hard on me
I prayed daily that he had made the right decision in his life! When I received his letter I got a bit of relief, even though he has been on light duty due to an infection from a blister his hopes were still high. Daily I hope and pray for all the children that have chosen the military as a way of life. I Pray for their safety,now I also pray that the parents can find peace and comfort for the decision made by the children to join the military! We have to stay strong and supportive of their decisions! May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Natedoggsmom- after the horrible experience with the phone call dropping. I came home to our first letter she is doing just fine, really home sick but making progress. It was what I needed most, and on top of that found her picture on the RTC Facebook. I Haven't gotten one either, it HAS to be the next few days!!!! I know I will cry when i hear his voice. I hope she feels better...hugs to u!!

Thank you, loveted wine We were both really strong and persistent about not sobbing our eyes out when she left. But now I just can't stop the tears. I know she will be fine , I write her that this is just a temporary sadness.
