I got my first quick phone call from my son, He said in a few weeks he will call again. Do they call a certain time during the day or whenever there told?

Whenever their RDCs schedule phone time. Always be prepared to take a call. Usually you can count on 3 calls: The quick scripted "I arrived" call, a longer call at around the third week and the long "I'm a Sailor" call after Battle Stations 21.  A brief call for information regarding a security clearance is possible.  Any other calls are a gift from the RDCs for good behavior.

Thanks for this info!
