Thank you, still struggling with getting around this site to find replies or make comments but updated my profile from your suggestions this morning. Got the scipted made it to boot camp call after midnight...not sure if that made things better or worse...he sounded so flat and tired :(
Hi Lonesome, My son left on 9/21 and I rec'd his call at 1:30a.m. that next morning. I thought by hearing my son voice I would feel at ease but actually felt worse. It felt so cold but I think once we receive the "3weekCall" it will ease our comfort. Wish you the best of luck for you and yours.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one! My son left Sept 17th for BC. I feel like I can't catch my breath. And my goodness I've thought about all those last this and that. I know what a bright and wonder future he will have but sooner that later they are going to have to commit me somewhere!
I have been doing so much better until tonight. I am not sure why I am so sad right now. Does this happen to y'all? Do y'all have the roller coaster of emotions? And he has only been there since the 15th! I want to hear my son's voice just to know how he is. And the poor mail lady,I know she must think I am stalking her. I want that form letter so bad. I just want details. I want to make plans. I feel like I am missing part of myself.
On the positive side, I am so proud of his decision to join the Navy. He's a great fella and will make an awesome sailor!
@Bradensmom You are not alone! I have 5 kids and I really try and stay positive for them. My navy boy is my 2nd oldest. I could be completely fine one moment and then all of a sudden, I get overwhelmed with emotions. I feel like it's something ripped out my heart. I always worry if he is eating/resting enough.I've written him like 3 letters. I too, have yet to receive his "Form Letter ".Its very tough being parents and having to let them go. But on the other hand I am extremely proud of him serving our country!

The range of emotions is endless.  Weepy but those are tears of joy and pride for my son. Chatting live with others on the site has helped. Hope you get your letter soon.
