My son will be home from his current base by tomorrow. I am so looking forward to him being home. The thought that this puts him one step closer to being overseas makes me feel a bit more anxious. I may not see him for at least a year or more. Navy Mom's proud, strong, scared, excited, sad and happy we stand.

Hi Sinda,

Don't let your anxiety interfere with his being home with you!  Just enjoy him every minute.  My baby girl went to Bahrain a month ago and it was hard but they are all NAVY strong!  He will be fine and you will too, you must be strong for him.

Bahrain is a pretty safe place from what I hear and have been told by my sailor.  They must adapt to the heat but other than that, it's pretty good.

Good luck and again enjoy his time home!

Thanks! I have spoken to my boy about some people feeling lonely when they get over there. He wasn't at all concerned. He was like "Who me? Doubt that." My son could find a friend within minutes of being at a new place. He has a very good radar who not to hang with also. I use to tell everyone he was running for office when he was little....we would go to the store and he would wave and say "Hi. I'm Zach" everyone knew him by time we were there twice! I think that I have been feeling like I have because our oldest son has been missing since he 24. He is 12 yrs older than my sailor. I thankfully have had the common sense not to be overprotective with my sailor. Believe it is a fight I find myself in often. I just have to trust in the Lord and in my sailor.
my daughter is in Bahrain very strong baby girl i miss her so much hopefully i get to see her this year sometimes in december! I talk to her every other day im happy shes okay.
Im not a strong mama but, proud of my baby girl!
My son is leaving the US in May. I'm wondering if there are any recommended item that I should be sure to have him take with him. Suggestions??

if he plays baseball/softball, his mit, etc, there are teams on base, also enough civilian clothes, both long sleeve and short sleeve as well as long pants.

Wow,

My son just arrived and I see your year is up. Any advice or ideas you have please share with me. I just started a calendar of make off days.
