Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

We were only able to find ours at Walgreens drug store, we got a $10 one before he left, and he ended up needing to buy another. So I'd recommend $15-$20

Found one at Walmart but it wasn't easy to find. Not with all the cellular cards in electronics, up front with all the other store gift cards at the registers...on the very bottom of the display...only two to choose from, $15 or $20. HTH

I bought him a 600 minute card. I don't think there's an expiration date. Cost $30. I know I'm crazy but I feel I can't do enough for my SR. I just wish he would have spoken to me more about what was ahead of him instead of the GF. She hasn't answered my emails to her about hotel / plane / car. What should I think?

You should think that your son thinks his GF is important too... I'm a gf of a sailor, and it's disheartening to see moms who view their son's ladies as a threat. Men grow up to find gfs/wives who become their #1. Simply ask your son what's ahead of him, and maybe the gf hasn't gotten to your email yet. I'm really lucky my sailor's mom is my friend and partner in all this... I'll pray things go smoothly for your SR's graduation, the last thing he needs is drama between mom and girlfriend.

I purchased mine at CVS. My question is, 'Do phone cards enable your SR to make a longer call home?'.

No, the amount on their phone card has nothing to do with how long they will be able to talk to you on the phone for

pennytalk.com is an easy to use, easy to refill card you can set it up all online and then send your SR the log in information so they can easily make calls.

We bought our calling card at Walgreens. We bought one that we could reload. We took a picture with our phone of the back of the card.

I have been told Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid all have prepaid long distance cards...be careful how you ask for them because you may get the prepaid phone card instead. We got ours at Walmart..they had two different types of AT&T cards--one was $30 for 7 cents a minute--the other was $25 for 500 minutes--better deal.

CVS had a reloadable card $40 1000 minutes. There were also $20 and $10 cards. And if recharged at CVS they get a 10% discount on recharge minutes.
