Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Ugh...it sounds like your son has had a big picture view of his life and how it could turn out depending on his choices. I will praise God for leading him to such a noble and courageous career in the US Navy.
It is funny how no matter your situation, no matter where you live, all of us Moms are all feeling the tug and ache of our children leaving us. I have to keep reminding myself that this is what we are charged to do. God gave us the gift of our child with the responsibility of raising good, responsible adults. We are seeing this unfold before our eyes. So why am I sad? I guess I am not ready to let go yet.
I am so happy to have this board to let it all out and hear that across this great Country, Moms everywhere are feeling this most confusing set of emotions. Let that bond us all together, and God bless our sons and daughters as they volunteer for the strongest Navy in the World...(chest puffing out a little bit).

Grateful for this site too...really gives me comfort reading what everyone is feeling and relating to it 100 per cent! We were given the gift of raising our children for this moment. It's greater than anything I've experienced thus far!

Beautifully said! I'm trying to concentrate on the positives as well. My son has stepped into adulthood with the decision and is proving it already as he prepares to leave next week. Such a change. Can't wait to see what he does over the next weeks in boot camp. So proud of all of them, especially on this Veteran's Day. It has a whole new meaning.
