My sailor is currently in Great Lakes for A School. She is not sure when she will get 'leave'. Does anyone know the rules on sending her (and other sailors) treats while in A school? Also, I know where she will go after A school, but I can't find a group for it. From what I read, I am not supposed to tell where her 'future' will be, due to privacy. Am I correct on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Saying what a future duty station is is fine, especially if all your info here follows PERSEC, and we can't backtrack to sites like Facebook.
Will she be in Great Lakes over the holiday stand down? Unofficial dates are dec 18 to jan 4, but that is pretty solid. If so, she will be given the opportunity to take leave. If she has not earned enough days, she may borrow forward, known as going in the hole. If she would rather wait until after A school to take leave, then she can do that too, although the base will be quite empty and they close some of the barracks.
As for treats, each barracks sets it own policies, so ask her. If you do send anything, send it in resealable containers, and nothing too perishable. The chow hall does a nice holiday dinner, and there are activities through MWR to enjoy on base.
Here is the guide for MWR activities in November:

Even those students on hold get to take leave during the stand down. But don't buy plane tickets which cannot be changed without an approved leave! Sounds like she isn't asking the right person, which is common among new sailors, or someone is passing the buck.
