Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hey everyone, new to the  forum, my son leaves  for basic Jan 6th. anyone else?  just looking  for pointers, what to expect and also since I am in  florida i would like to  find out if there is help to get to graduation when the time comes, trying to plan ahead.

I think I'm ok! I worry about him not sleeping the first 48 hours and all that...he loves it...the whole process. That makes me feel better....but still when I look at him I see my baby! Lol! And I'm struggling with the he's a man...

Hi How are you ? My daughter also will be going on the 6th ! She had to go up to Jacksonville tonight the we will drive up in the morning and watch her swear in and fly out !!!

Hey, im ok so far lol i take mine to tampa tomorrow, he swears in on wed and flies out. Im not ready!
My son leaves tomorrow morning.I have been trying to be so brave for him. I know a few tears will be shed. I have mixed feelings about that. If I don't cry will he think we don't care? If we do cry will he hate leaving us? Just dont know...

He was on the plane heading to chicago at 6:20. Waiting very impatiently for my call.
No from Chicago. Is your son flying to ohare to great Lakes?
My son texted they are on the bus headed to great Lakes probably last communication.sometime tonight we should get the call I'm thinking
