Hello all
I know I am not a mom I am a spouse and well I dont know really where to go as my spouse and I talked for 3 weeks and finally said it was ok for him to join the Navy. I am scared and excited at the same time. I have been told there is a good chance that we will be based in Norfolk. My biggest thing to get over is me quieting my job. As i have been the sole money maker being a Police officer for 13 years giving up my job for my spouses dream is a big deal. I dont know if I will find work or if I want to find work right away. We have a 3 year old and I just want to make sure I am there for her as much as I can be in the beginning. Any advice?

Michael, I left info for you on your My page, including some groups that may help.
Thank you but no thank you, to me thats not a very nice welcome
Hi Michael. I'm not the spouse of a Sailor, so I won't presume to be a source of advice on that score, but I can say that all new Recruits and their families can use all the support that they can give each other. You are all in for a wild roller coaster ride. Hang tight.
For advice and support from other wives, there is a discussion group here called Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors. Good luck.
