Welcome to the next part of the journey. I left info for you on your My Page.

Hi Dawn,

I'm Julie and my son also arrived at boot camp last night.  I received my call at midnight.  It looks like you were still awake in the wee hours.  Hope you got some sleep.  I slept for 10 yours....totally drained.  Now I need to concentrate on keeping myself busy for the next 8 weeks.  I've sent you s friend request. ;)

Hi Julie,

He called at about 8:30 PST. I did have a bit of trouble getting out of bed this morning. I think it was more from emotional exhaustion.

Yes, definitely trying to keep busy.

My son arrived at BC late Tuesday/early Wednesday. He has been waiting in DEP since July and was very ready to go. My son is 23 and really gave the Navy a lot of thought and did a lot of research before finally deciding to enlist. Saying that, it is still hard to let him go as I was lucky enough to have him with us until he left for BC.

So proud of our recruit for taking the Navy path and hope all of them do well. We are missing him a lot and anxious because we are a new military family. So thankful for NavyforMoms as my family and I have learned so much about the process and what to expect. Having others to share our experience makes this bearable.

Hi MissiMom9470,

My son is 19 and was waiting since July as well. I think it was hard for him to let go as well. Just can't wait for that form letter to have his address and to receive letters from him as well.

I hope they all do well also. I am obsessed with trying to find out as much information as I can. This site is amazing for sure.

My son's box arrived today. Instant tears. I haven't even opened it yet. Happy to have received it though.
