For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi, my son left the 23rd, I've received his box, but no letter yet. I'm getting better at this & it's only been a week.

It seems like a long week of wondering what they are doing . I couldn't wait for the box , yet it made me so emotional. No letter today . It's probably early .
Hope to keep in touch and compare are days/ weeks/ PIR

My son arrived on the 23rd and I just got his box and letter yesterday, the 29th.

I too was military, Army, and my son is the first Navy in the family. So, so proud of him though. I understand now what my family went through on the waiting game, that first letter, first phone call, etc...it's a bit different now being on the other side of it, for sure.

Its been a very long week, I just got home from work, and still no letter, wonder what the difference is why some have received both the box & letter. I haven't received a phone call, other than the one to let me know he was there, so I'm assuming that's good news. I will definitely keep tabs & chat daily/weekly, this is rough though not knowing the unknown.

How are you!!
Did you receive your letter yet? We did get it on Friday and as I was walking into the house from the mailbox the phone rang. It said on caller ID United States Government thinking it was my husband and it was my son!!!!!! He needed my other sons address for clearance but we spoke for 3 min and he sounds strong. happy and says he is healthy.
That three minutes will get me through anything now !!!!
Hope you have the letter so you can write. It help me to write to him. It will help them at mail call.
Maybe our boys are on the same ship and in the same division!!!
I am so looking forward to Graduation to meet us moms !!!
Write when you can I am looking forward to hearing from you and hope as the weeks get closer to the end of Boot Camp things get easier .

As of today still no letter! I'm beginning to wonder if he's really even there?! No news is good news, I suppose. I'm hanging in there! Glad to hear you have received yours & have gotten to chat for a few minutes. I will feel a lot better when I get an address & PIR date so I can write & start counting the days down.

Finally received info today... Ship 3, div 158, PIR 4/15/16. Received a regular letter and he's doing great...I feel so much better now. Thanks for checking Forever1 :-)

My husband left 2/23 and i got jis box and graduation info thats all. No letter no phone call

Hang in there, his letter & PIR letter was postmarked March 7th. I received it in the mail yesterday March 9, late afternoon. He had said he was only given 15 minutes to write & only allowed one letter at that time.
