Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My best friend's been on deployment for a bit now.  I'm used to him being gone for a few weeks and him coming back but this time is different because he's supposed to be gone for 6 to 9 months.  I don't have an address to reach him at so I can't talk to him.  

I can't stop thinking about him and miss him more and more everyday. I've never missed someone this much before and really don't know how to...I guess cope with him not being here.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bre, My son just graduated in Jan. But I am a Veteran whose husband was always off on deployments. It's hard I know, you miss them everyday. I just tried to keep busy. I'd work, then find things to do like go to the movies or visit my girlfriends, go to the beach or workout. My ex husband was in Korea one time for 6 months and wasn't able to contact me. This was before cell phones even. Lol. Try to focus on you, do things that will take your mind off of him. It seems like forever but he will be back before you know it. I hope that helps. Hugs! Another suggestion and it's something I do now, get a Journal and write. It helps to reflect and let those feelings out somehow. Write about your day, what you did, what you'd like to do tomorrow, things you're grateful for. Make it a countdown journal.. it will be something you can look back at the next time he delpoys and help with that anxiety. Ok. Hugs!

That's a very tough time for you, I can realize you feeling as my husband is in service since last 10 years. I just miss him like you when he station at far places or other country.
