Yeah.. You're definitely older. haha. I'll be 18 until next February. :P

We've talked about marriage a lot. No definite plans yet though!

I'll be headed to Clemson University this fall. :)

HEY!! I just read your profile, and we're the same age. :) and dating a sailor the same age. :)

I'm 18 and he's 21 (not for long though!). :) We've been dating since June 2008.

.. and I have no idea why/how that got so big (the text!)!!!

Because it costs the Navy more to move families than it does to move single sailors... There are married that get NY, it's just that the married folks normally get SC if they want it. :)

They tell everyone 6 months (they being the recruiter). He'll know about week 5 of boot camp which one he got. :) EM is electrican mate. ET is Electrician's Technician. and MM is Machinists Mate. They're all nukes, just they do different jobs. :)
What he said about New York is right. They have the "Option" of going to NY for six months. It's called Ballston Spa or something like that... They get to request whether they go there for prototype or stay in SC. They don't always get what they want though.. A lot of the times if they want NY and they're single, they're pretty likely to get it. Just depends on which reactors are working and which aren't. :)

A school depends on which rate he get. EMs and ETs have 6 months of A school. MMs have 3 months. Power School and Prototype are both 6 months for everyone. :)
The hold times in between the schools vary... Almost everyone classes up for A school within a week or two. Between A school and Power School the wait is generally 2 weeks to 2 months. If he's an MM, his wait for Prototype could be looong. Right now they're looking at at least 6-9 months of hold. For EMs and ETs however, it's about a 2 month wait (if they have to wait at all).

:)

Oh, and Power School and Prototype may seem like a lifetime away now.. But it goes soooo fast!!

I can answer bootcamp questions, too. :)

And don't worry, I used to have all sorts of questions, too. :)

Hey! Thanks for the add. :)
If you have any questions or anything, don't be afraid to ask me. My Nuke is in Power School and will start Prototype on May 9th. So I've been around for awhile. :)
