OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My Son leaves for Boot Camp in 2 wks

Posted on October 10, 2012 at 10:36pm 3 Comments

My son Chase leaves for Bootcamp on October 25th 2012 and I was wondering if anybody else's child leaves on that day.  He was scheduled to leave on October 30th 2012 but was moved up.  As the days get closer it becomes harder to know that soon I wont be able to see him for awhile.  I am so proud of his decision to join the Navy but can't help feeling that I don't want to let him go.

I'm not sure.  Pensacola would be so awesome for us, we only live an hour away.

Hey, Deanna - I've been here on N4Ms only a couple weeks and I know more than my SR.  We should keep in touch in case our sons happen to become friends :))))  Sounds like they are shipping out the same day! blessings, RanesMom-Robin
