Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I see you accepted and got the message. I will reply to the private message. This site is old school, and it can take a little getting used to, but once you do, it is a lot easier to keep track of messages and such than some other online platforms I am familiar with, IMO.
I sent you a friend request. I don't get notified when these are accepted, so if you would just send me a little confirmation note, that would be great. I have something I wanted to share with you in a private message. Just some details about PIR that I don't like to post on the public groups.

Hello!!! I see you joined Moms of Daughters 2 recently and I want to welcome you to our group!!! We have been a little quiet of late but we are a friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor. Please feel free to add any conversation on our group page. You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life. We are all in different phases of our daughter’s Naval careers - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! I have twin daughters that both enlisted in the Navy, one is a veteran and the other is an officer! I also have a son who enlisted in 2003, started as an E1, worked all the way to Chief Petty Officer (E7) , then was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer (CWO2) a year ago. My husband and I are also both veterans!! Our group here support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment. Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!

Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. Welcome to the Navy... Everything will be ok! The First part is some things to do before your SR leaves IF you Can, It’s NOT ESSENTIAL! Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 10 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
My son is in SC now for Nuke school finishing up week 6. It requires lots of discipline but if she was in ROTC I'm sure she will do fine.

That group page is the best place to go and ask questions and to read lots of information. This site is old school (set up by the Navy) and it is a lot easier to navigate on a computer than on a mobile device.
If you are on a mobile device, be sure to put it into desktop mode, so you can scroll around the group pages. When you join the BC Mom group you will then be able to post questions, concerns, ups and downs in the Comment Wall Area where more of the members will see your posts. You will need to scroll down past the information, past the discussions and then you will find the Comment Wall.
Please come join us, we would love to have you. The more you post the more you will see others post and can connect with fellow members hopefully going through BC with you as well.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.
Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.
