My son just got his orders yesterday. He will be going to the USS Fort McHenry LSD 43 home port Little Creek VA. Kinda funny, but he will be stationed about 20 minutes from where he lived for his 1st 4yrs of life. Even more funny, I was stationed there (security/Pass/ID) at Little Creek when I was pregnant with him. Just thought I'd share.

I had not been able to see the BHR page on until today. However, there are no pictures or messages from the Captain as previously. There were only posts from loved ones of sailors and marines on the ship. It is through one of the posts that I learned that they could receive messages. How valid that info is, I don't know.

I had not been sending our son emails because I did not think he could receive them, however, I just saw on FB that eventhough they cannot send emails they can receive them. I also saw a suggestion to use snail mail.

I tried to email my boyfriend on the Uss Carter hall, says email was deferred and not to try to send it again, does anyone know what this means

Hey thanks for the link to the USS Makin Island!! My son was doing vert reps on deck a few weeks ago....and his helo is in some of those pics!!! How very cool!!!
